Ever watch Jujutrsu Kaisen or Attack on Titan?
In thosse animation series and mangas, the protagonist is turning into the antagonist by the mid terms, as in Jujutsu our protagonist is overshadowed by his peers - jacked up phisically, dandy, alpha chads and OP - to the point their adventures took a major part of the screen time and are way more interesting to the audience, while in Attack our protagonist is a side character for most of the running time with way more interesting supporting cast stealing the show - pretty much how Brad Pitt stole the whole fight club movie away from Ed Norton and once upon a time in hollywood from Leo di Caprio, winning the oscar as the supporting hunk over Leo and being the Man in the relationship with Ed.
This game features the dad as Brad Pitt in a suppporting character actually stealing the show.

Because other medias have done it successfully and continue to do it over and over and over again.meaning this is very much part of the story, so you can't even use that as a cover excuse to shove this type of content in "harem" game, furthermore what i gather from other comments is that it seems that dear dad's "optional" content is being worked on more actively than the actual "MC's".
Why?
