At this point, the vast majority of the updates are about Laura, and that is BAD for the game.
Well, the game isn't finished, right? A dev can't do all branchs at once... or the updates would seem very short depending on the branch you choose.
Maybe there will be some other branchs in the futur where Laura's impact is very limited. Who knows ? Nobody can really judge until the game is finished.

I disagree. Not every story needs a Villain. Actually, most of the best Drama's dont have a villain. You can have conflicts and tension without a Villain. The antagonist, or Villain, is just the easiest and least imaginative way to have conflict and tension. Its the easy way out.
I don't get it. How do you build suspens tension and conflict without any antagonist? Unless you render a very simple porn game with no story, I don't get it.
Or every stories would be like :
- woman : hey you, I need help cleaning my... pipes *wink wink*
- man : ok let's fuck
the end

The other solution would be a sand box where the MC pat the woman's head 50 times until the woman accept to hold hands with the MC or something. Then after [50 hold hands]... yeeey a kiss on the cheek!... :HideThePain:

Different tastes.
The thing is, I saw Haileys size at the end as a teaser like - every girl will look like that. But it did not happen. They did not even get any chance to react to it, which was a shame. I just thought that losing control would actually mean losing control.

But it is what it is, I liked the final part of the Broken Watch-Ending, so I dont want to complain too much.
The reason for that is obvious : Imagine a dev having to re-do a render for every boob size, just to cope with the taste of EACH player...
That's the issue with this kind of transformation games. At some point, some players think it's "too much" and other players won't be satisfied until the boobs become as huge as the building or something...

The only solution to satisfy as much players as possible is to make some women having gigantic boobs, and others to stop their growth at some point.

Well, other Devs can do it. Or he could intercalate bad endings with Laura with good endings.

Again, there isnt a ONE WAY to do things

With deeper, and more realistic conflicts. Life is full of conflicts and tension, and nobody really has an "antagonist" in Life. The Villain or Antagonist comes from child stories, from Disney, or Marvel, or stuff like that, as the stories go deeper, the antagonist is less of a necessity

Having a Harem and managing it already is a conflict on its own

Which Devs? Most of those who tried failed.
It's obvious that there will be more and more time between updates if you work on multiple branchs at the same time. There are so many game that got abandonned because of that, and I hate to see abandonned game. So working on one branch in peculiar and finishing it, then jumping to another branch is a good way to overcome this issue.

Childish Disney/Marvel villains ? For a porn game? Nobody would like that, me included.
The quality of a story is proportionnal to the quality/motivations and depth of the antagonist(s). And creating and quality antagonist is an art in itself, as seing the MC overcoming all those issues is very satisfying. Antagonists are a necessary evil for character developpment. And I already said that I was not really satisfied with the way the 'Laura' bomb was dropped on the players. I don't really like her crazyness either (I'm not found of Yandere). But I understand why she is a necessary evil.

Are you talking about those managment games without stakes... other than f*cking every love interests in the game?
The issue with those game is that they follow the same pattern :
- woman seem to have interesting/funny personnality
- you get to fuck the additionnal woman
- the woman becomes so corrupted that she accepts the harem
- the woman becomes like a doll and lose her personnality...
- rinse and repeat for every women in the game.
Those games becomes very boring at some point. All those management games that seems promising at the beginning but then... I'm like... "I don't even remember the name of those women"...

There should be an option at the start that let's you jump into the new update if you want, it's a waste of tme having to click through all of the story you already know just to get to the new stuff

I've always just used a save from a previous version. They seemed to work for me.

Antagonists are not a necessary Evil, they are the cheap way out to create drama.

Go look at the lastest Best Movies and Best Scrips in the Oscars, many of those are Drama movies, now tell me which pecentage of them have Villains or Antagonists.

Villains, or Antagonists, are mostly for kids stories, like what Disney has. Its cheap drama, cheap conflict. Real life issues create more conflict without an antragonist

Diseases, jealousy between members of the Harem, Job/Money problems, housing, etc. There are literally millons of ways to create tension and conflict, and a Villain is the worst of them, but the easiest one to create

....you do realize that Villains are merely one kind of antagonist, right?

By definition, the antagonist is any character or object that stands in opposition to the protagonist's goals. In a pandemic narrative, the disease itself is an antagonist. In a drama with multiple POV characters, each POV character has their own antagonist -- usually more than one, and if it's done right, they may be other POV characters that are seen as protagonists in their own part of the narrative.

The notion of Antagonist = Bad Guy is an oversimplification taught to middle schoolers because they're too young to really understand the nuance of complex storytelling.

I will absolutely agree that Laura got a bit too moustache-twirly during that stretch of the game, but "woman who held onto her infatuation with MC for far too long and goes too far in pursuit of her goals" is %100 an acceptable trope in this kind of game. The author just used it horribly.

Edit: I'll use the Song of Ice and Fire series (the novels, not the Game of Thrones TV show) to illustrate this. Every single character in that series is an antagonist to one or more other characters. Some of them are actual villains.

What's the difference? The villains are the ones hurting people they don't need to hurt to accomplish their goals.

Ok, well, in this case we are talking about a Person being the Antagonist, so i was using it in that way in this context. I am not english native so i might have been using the word antagonist incorrectly.

In any way, i still stand that the Villain, like Laura in this case, is the easiest and less imaginative way to create conflict and tension, and that having a Person being the Antagonist (Laura) is not NEEDED 100% like the poster i was replying to was saying

He said a story without a Villain is boring, which is 100% FALSE

Dev got overly ambicious. The whole broken watch should have been treated as a linear bad ending where the girls get huge depite their best efforts and he would have been done with it last year, and supporters from every fetish would be happy.
Now everyone is forced to witness the rise and fall of civilizations alongside continental shifts and a few glacial periods before they get the endings they want.
Veering onto an ending as you reach their trigger points is a bad idea in the first place. A given ending is a niche product, the core story has the broader appeal. When you hit a trigger point, you put an endcap on it, say "Hey, this will lead to an ending later", and keep the focus on the main game.

This is especially true when you don't know how to write an ending. Both of the endings currently in the game are 3x longer than they need to be.

The Dev is clearly artificially extending the game so he gets the monthly money for longer periods of time.

The same happened with the previous ending.

He knows what most people is waiting for, that's why he will leave that for last and will continue spending years with crappy bad endings

That's a dangerous game. Endings are niche content, and when we go six months between updates and each update is 1/3 of a niche ending -- that's 18 months (2 years if you factor in the Endowed ending that was thrown in there) of possible lost subs because people who aren't into that niche get impatient wating.

It is, but i assume he is ok with what he is earning doing so. Patreons keep paying to Devs that are not releasing any content for years, which i dont understand either, i guess there are a lot of people with extra money that they dont care about

Oh god, I'm fully aware of that one. A few pages before people were talking about moral implications of mind control, that game is this same issue amplified by 100x. In terms of writing, I despise that game, the porn itself is ok at best.
Not the biggest fan either of literally selling out the human race because you live in weird America/Japan and don't have a gun

Man a gun in most VNs would just make the MC overpowered I have noticed in my years of going through em

You mean the shrinking pool of em, it sure is easy to get majority when the group that gives consensus shrinks by like thirty percent
There are no "thirty percent" on , that number is incredibly faulty, like you completely made it up or something. From the first year he went from 0 to about 800 patreons and since then it been fairly stable. The two biggest patreon peaks been when he released the second and third update to the broken watch ending, cause it's what people wanted.

I might have overstated it but a ten percent decree is a ten percent decrease(According to the source you linked) and that doesn't gel with what you said either
