i would say ai is even more lazy since all you need is to spend a lil money on a decent pc and enter some prompts.
The harder you work to get the AI image as close as possible to the situation you're using the image for, the less it's just "putting a few words into a box." I've done some AI image generation for a non-sexual mod I made of a mainstream game once, because I had a very specific idea for that mod, and I knew I wouldn't be able to find any existing art of it. I only needed 14 images, but I ended up generating 152 images, because I kept going back in to try for better results. Thinking back on that experience really makes it hard for me to sympathize with the accusation that devs who use AI are lazy, provided that they're not just stopping at the first image that pops out when they put in a prompt.
thats fair but if you dont like ai art and then you see 10 ai art games everyday it gets kinda annoying at some point
I consider myself pretty lucky if I see ten games with art I
do like on any given day. But I gotta tell ya, the average number of games I see with art I like in a given day has increased a lot since AI art became a thing.
