Mei I have no comment, as I'm still fucked up over that one, which is saying something because I was already made aware of what happened to her on the very first playthrough with Jun meaning it was so many hours ago and I still haven't gotten completely over it. To be fair, it also happened to Jun but the way Mei's reveal caught me by surprise left the most "impact" on me.
I definitely agree with this one, Mei generally fucked me up the most as her ending was incredibly depressing since she still had some inkling of will left considering how she managed to recognize Ryo after he left. While I'd say that their design as a whole was greatly flawed (human teens can already develop very unhealthy sexual habits when they have a gradual awakening, let alone an instant one like the Neo-Humans where they'd have no frame of reference as to how to deal with their new desires), the fact that the society of that world had actually gone to the point where they'd legalize slavery again without the politicians getting ousted meant that Not!Gendo did the right thing by creating a "superior" species, his only mistake was that he did not get rid of the old humans who ended up stabbing him in the back.
Seriously, imagine not having to worry about your children dying, getting sick, being born with genetic defects or even going hungry. This would make any parent happy, and the fact that everyone was afraid of getting replaced and having their "hard work" be inherited by those who would not need to struggle rang awfully close to how a lot of people view progress in the real world.
At least everything got tang'd at the end

I'd argue that it is a good end, in the same vein that I'd argue that Instrumentality in general is a good end for humanity
now one thing that got me wondering, as i didn't see the happy ending, as i only saw the Ai route, what would happen after, let's say, 100 years? given that all of the "Neo Humans" are imortal, what would happen to them? i've read that Jun and Mei got amputeded, so i doubt they would have any future at all, but Ai is still "intact"... i'm curious to see her behaviour after her lover Uncle died, and she is alone... would she find someone "similar" to her uncle, or would she "try" to ammend things with the MC?
End happens after an unspecified amount of time, but we know that it has the same ending as Eva where everyone collapses into LCL and enters a world of consciousness where they can be truly happy. If that did not happen, though, while their memories would not be erased since they will always remain, it would be possible to modify their bodies so that they are not addicted to being raped, as we know that this can happen (the hobos do this to Mei in order to make an onahole, just in reverse). So a good ending may be possible
Though it's also possible that Gendo had already tang'd humanity, and that the entire game happens in the Instrumentality, which would explain why the MC can reverse time (after clearing every route he admits to hearing a voice at the end that gives him the option to try again). It's possible that, in reality, he had been in love with all three of them and lost them, so in the dream world he relived it until he could make peace and finally try to move on. The three girls he spoke to in the end were not the "real" ones, but his own perception of them. I think that this can be read as him accepting that he will love them despite everything that happened.
Or I am just overthinking the Eva connections, either way, Mei's best girl and a champ for remembering Ryo will even after living as an object for two years.
So essentially you get a different ending if you do all three of the girls as lovers individually and after the third time you get an ending where the main character is wondering why they are unable to go back and decide to wait out time until it’s only them and the three girls left and after waiting for god knows how long they decide to leave and their is only crumbs of the town and the sea so the main character goes to the shore and sees the three girls and they shit on him(insult him) and then turn to goo and then he got sad then they turn back to normal and said some and then did a foursome and they guy happy but then you see where the guy also turn into goo and you see four goo spots then after that you see some evangelion ending where every character says congratulations then you are allowed to access the gallery. I’m confused about the part about foursome and the four goo spots like did they bang and then turned goo? Was the foursome part of the guy’s imagination? I’m just confused or am I overthinking shit?
Going by Eva, they never turned into humans from goop. Either the MC turned into LCL after seeing both of them hate on him, and the rest of the ending was in his own dream world, or he had been LCL since the start and the entire game was a dream. I personally choose the latter, as that would explain his ability to reverse time at the end.
It is technically possible if this game has a Shinji for them to have turned back into humans, but that could only happen if they decide that life and its struggles are worth it over the perfect dreamscapes they would live in. Considering the mental state of the girls at the end, I doubt that this would have been possible.
Also, wtf, there is a new Jun game?
Interestingly enough, it has new lore, apparently it takes a few weeks to adjust to your newfound desires, so the girls would not have turned into ubersluts if they were not assaulted instantly. Though it looks like Jun is still going to get fucked by the teacher at the end, either way, gonna play it later, since I just finished the first one and need a bit of a break
