I'm working on finishing the mod, but I really don't want to give out any more previews. This last thing that happened with the AI mod really demotivated me a lot. The idea of sharing previews is to let you see that I'm working on the mod, but I see that they were being used to train the AI and make the images better than I did, and well, that really demotivates me a lot.

At the end of the day I feel like I'm just wasting my time coming up with new things for the mod since they will simply be used to create better things with AI.

Daseson your work is awesome, don't let anyone (or any computer) tell you otherwise!
Your work could never be replaced by AI.
Your human touch is what makes the art so beautiful and the fact you are passionate about it, you can really see it.
AI makes many mistakes and doesn't follow logic.
Even if Daseson can make a mistake it doesn't matter because we see the intent and the passion behind it.
I think you put details that even an AI couldn't do properly.
So please don't be discouraged, everyone on this forum is here because of you and your work that we all love.
We are here to support you!

I defo agree with you but i would also like to add that i recommend trying the game without color mods as well but that is up to you of course! I just personally find the black and white very charming in a way and feels more unique as not a lot of games do that (Though a lot of black and white porn games started popping up a while after Monochrome fantasy became even more popular)
Dasesons mod is really nice though, i've played through the game at least twice with the mod installed even if it's not fully finished hehe

It was hard getting into Monochrome, as I started with fantasy, and in comparison, Monochrome seems a bit shallow. I've tried out both games without the mod; however, some of the art is really hard on the eyes. I get that it's maybe meant to be impressionist, but to me it looks like a rough first draft. I 100% agree with you on the calming/relaxing vibes the monochrome colour scheme gives off, though, I wonder why that is! Thank you for your reply; it was interesting to read about another perspective.

Understandable, you're doing an amazing job! Please don't be discouraged, it is so much better to have a piece of art with a soul. It was cool to see the journey with all the previews while it lasted, but we will still continue to follow along while you colour the game, even if we don't get previews. Just keep us updated here once in a while ;D

That's not true at all. Your work is very beautiful, and it doesn't matter at all that you have very little time. Your work is very beautiful, and AI can't replace that. You do it completely free all of us. And that certainly makes me and everyone else here just as happy. Keep it up. Don't let any AI stuff get you down, because your work, your creations, are much more beautiful than AI. And you enjoy it, too. And I would be very happy if you continued doing it and continued to enjoy it. And remember, take as much time as you need. It's perfectly fine. And you're doing it completely free for us. And no one can pressure you or demand anything right away. So keep it up, I believe in you. No matter how long it takes.

It's all about the philosophy.
I translate games, not on a large scale, but a little bit and mostly for myself. That's why I translate things that have already been translated a long time ago, to achieve a better result, and if someone likes it and uses my translation, and even says thank you, that's nice.

To be fair, your work is much better AND complete than the unfinished provocative attempt to do an AI colloring, done just to piss you off specifically, AND made and rated by one multi-account internet-troll.

But it is true that working on 2 projects at the same time is often a bad idea, and even more when this is a big project like this one.
Wanting to focus on finishing a project to it's 100% is honnourable. And not wanting to start, in the future, an other tiring, exhausting and very timeconsuming big project is understandable and very OK for you to not want to do.

If I have an advise for you, it would be to not start a coulouring mod for the next game if you don't REALLY feels like it because it will be a long and fastidious work, like this one, that will also test your resilience and passion for drawing.
BUT, if you feels the passionate needs to do the occasional OG fan art and/or collouring and expending the scope of the BG of an image you real like in the next game AND that you want to share it with everyone, don't hesitate to do it!
You truly have gold in your hand, so don't let anyone else tell you that your art is not worth it because IT IS.

The thing is, nobody, not even the best of AI's could do what you do better, because it wouldn't be you. People are petty and cruel, but there's nothing they can do that lessens the work you put into your own art. I love both of these games, but I wouldn't even buy it before searching for a colorization mod. I was using a random one I found here first before yours, and it was okay if a bit ugly, but what you've done for the game transforms the whole experience into a far better one than it would have been and I'm super grateful for what you do. I check every few weeks to see what's up, but I don't care if you take another 3 years, imo your take on the coloring is canon for me and I wouldn't substitute it for any other. Hope you're doing better.

That doesn't mean we're starting a revolt or you're starting one, but we want to show you that we want your mod and not AI. We shouldn't actually support AI because it takes everyone's work away. AI is nothing special, it's something special when you can do it yourself and don't rely on machines. I hope you'll change your mind and stay strong, and no one can actually say anything bad about it because they can't do it, but you can, so no one has the right to speak ill of it. And I want to continue to see your art steel and no computer-generated AI stuff. I hope you understand what I mean, and we shouldn't actually support AI. Firstly, it takes everyone's work away, and secondly, there will be no more artists, for example, for you. Voice actors are supposed to be replaced by AI, then people will lose their jobs. We really shouldn't support that. Keep up the good work you've been doing. Don't let yourself be discouraged. You can do it. I believe in you
