Are you accidentally renaming or missing the fonts so you've renamed the files? A good half the file names are using Katakana/Hiragana. You can usually tell by looking into the given folder (the hieroglyphs2.png won't be there, but rpgmvp files are, and you should be able to tell if it is messed up).

My expectation is it'll be found in one of the 近衛騎士.rpgmvp files, and if one of those is renamed it'll be unable to find the .png as well.

I downloaded and started a fresh file the pixeldrain link, so it isn't the file. (I've no interest in replaying, but I passed the area you had an issue with.)

That is indeed what is happening here. Apparently i am missing the fonts. Which is weird, since i did set system locale to japanese ages ago, installed japanese supplemental fonts ago, and so on.
Apparently the fix was to add japanese as one of my preferred languages as well, and i used a different program to extract the zip-file.

Are you on Windows, how have you extracted the files? Are any of the file names renamed for some reason? Is it automatically converting names?

I'll assume you can run other RPG maker games.

Being stuck on load tends to be a fetch that is failing, a computer issue (missing or changed locale), or an infinite. Double check pathing, naming, or anything for missing/odd symbols.
