Yes, those preferences probably mean what you think. First, they are preferences. Everyone has them. If a girl is more attractive to blondes than redheads, why would that be an issue? Obviously, when a preference is a physical trait, it is only a preference relating to physical attraction. Physical attraction is not the only thing that people are attracted to. Second, one of the two doesn't have anything to do with race, so I'm not sure why you brought it up in a convo about race.
Also, the way this code is written, preferences are built up based on your actions. So if you are seeing a value greater than 0 for a racial preference, then you have played the game in a way to build that statistic.
Dude it's an issue because it's a one way diode. Did I miss the variables for either husband or wife "attraction to redheads" or "attraction to tall men?"? Look, I'm not gonna get myself or you steamed up trying to argue this- it's your creation, you're confident the current stats system is how you want it fine. Don't try and tell me this is 'based on actions' though. I bristle at that kind facile statement because it ignores how any game was programmed and assumes all player actions have 1-to-1 intent with the outcome. For example, a player might like interracial scenes but not open relationships. Yet, unbeknownst to the player, everytime he watches those videos on the laptop it increments the latter stat.
2. Are you unaware that maybe a man would want to show off how sexy his wife is, but not necessarily want her to fuck someone else? Do you think all models, strippers, etc., are either single or prostitutes? Obviously not. The "fashion show" stripping has two possible outcomes: one w/ the wife and the husband, the other w/ the wife and Brian. But even if he is interested in this possibility it doesn't nenecessarily follow that he is 100% ready for it to happen, for him to be involved, etc.
Not at all, you're right that there's a wide variety. I don't take issue with what you're saying here. I take issue with the fact that in game it follows that he's 100% NOT ready for it to happen and be involved. You're deciding for the player.
Yes, this is literally the very first release of a work in progress. There is a lot more storytelling that hasn't happened yet. I kinda feel like you're saying "the ending of this story doesn't make any sense at all based on the first chapter." I am sorry if I am misunderstanding the intent of what you're saying, but that's how it's coming across. Furthermore, I'm seeing a lot of discussions of the tropes present in other games, even while you talk about how my game doesn't really have any of those tropes. I assume that you're not familiar with my other game. The only reason that I started making games was to avoid some of the shitty tropes that are all over games made by lazier people. I won't say that I have been perfectly successful in all cases, but I'd prefer to just discuss what's in my game(s) as opposed to things in other games. (Unless we're talking about those other games in other parts of the forum ---- which we are both apt to do as well lol.)
I get that it's only the first release, I was thinking more how it deviated from the InstructionsStart passage. Of the non-vanilla paths, the game tells us:
Open Relationship (Ethical Non-Monogamy): Of course, there's more than one way to keep your wife happy. Though you are in a monogamous relationship at the start of the story, maybe you or she would like to explore a bit more of what the world has to offer. . . with the full knowledge and consent of the other. This could be open to both of you, or maybe you just want her to be with other men. . .
Swinging or Sharing (Hotwifing): Maybe you want to explore other partners together . . . wife-swapping, group sex, orgies, or maybe Jenny finds one man just isn't enough? But whatever happens, it happens with your knowledge, consent, and physical presence!
Unfaithful: Will you cheat on Jenny? Will she cheat on you? If either of you is unhappy, this might be the result. What will happen if the cheater gets caught? (Warning: This path may contain unavoidable netorare content.)
The majority of the scenes take place both out of sight of the husband and often with him unaware. Yes, she tells him about the first fuckr thing afterwards, but none of the others? I admit I didn't exhaust every other liason. Based on the intro description, most of the events seem to fall on the unfaithful path (whether or not they're on that path in game). He sure isn't present for most of them, so that excludes swinging/sharing, and full knowledge is pretty iffy especially once you see wife's perspective.
Said in a more positive way, I think your descriptions above in the intro are FANTASTIC and I would love to play a game that separated paths down those lines, but I don't see the current gameplay lining up with that. Look, I'll be quiet now, I promise I'm not here to sow discord in your thread, I do wish the best for your game, which is exactly why I want you to widen the net from only hardcore ntr/bbc fetish fans. If you think I'm the asshole, do a poll here or privately amongst your patrons about what content they like best. I'd wager it's completely homogenous.
sidenote-you may already know this, both lexi dona and mysweetapple have some great threesome and foursome scenes, I imagine some will be used in future. Jess West is pretty scant for group sex.
