What's wrong with ME1? (Aside from the elevator rides)Yesterday I tried... I really tried to play Mass Effect 1... But damn, it's so stupid, I cannot play this crap.
But this parody is so great yet, even for a demo
I'll watch and skip through some Let's Play Videos then, to understand the story references...
So true. You've no idea how many times I've been likefemshep s hotter, as long as she doesn't packing huge schlong in her pants
Interesting that you mention the elevatorsWhat's wrong with ME1? (Aside from the elevator rides)
Making the protagonist from the games he parodies the protagonist of his games is simply not The Architect's style. He's done two complete games based on preexisting intellectual properties so far that I'm aware of as I haven't bothered with his "Hack'n Stalk" series so I'm unaware of whether its content is original or parody. His preference is for a fairly blank slate protagonist affecting the world they're placed in due to player choice. Why not make shep the protag?

Even the elevator scenes can be funny. What's wrong with ME1? (Aside from the elevator rides)
Personally, for me HnS2 is one of the most interactive games ever. I like it a lot. You should give it a try.I couldn't really get into Lust is Stranger for some reason despite its high quality, and the Hack'n'Stalk games are definitely similar quality but also didn't really hook me for the full duration. Not sure why. (side note: Should I give them another shot? They felt more like typical VN experiences to me than GRH but maybe that's just Lara Croft blinding me to the rails behind the scenes, haha.)
Now, hear me out... I think you might be stupid.Interesting that you mention the elevators. Yes, especially these are so annyoing.
Additionally:
The story in general is good, yes. I watched a Let's Play Video now and the construct of the Reapers, Citadel and so on is really impressive, understandable and somehow mind-blowing.
- Confusing mini-map without environment structure (like when hitting M key)
- Highlighted points are still shown in mini-map, even when there's nothing to do anymore.
- Often the points where I have to go are not shown in mini-map at all.
- No height level is visible in mini-map. Often I run around, looking for stairs or elevators, run up and down, wait for the f*cking elevators to arrive - just to find out, that I'm still in the wrong height level and/or that the highlighted point is not where I want or have to go. These elevators are sooo slow - and they are absolutely everywhere.
- The levels are feeling like a maze to me. Many locations look exactly the same, feel like running around in circles. Then suddenly enemies appear out of literally nowhere (with some super cool scripted cutscene). Many enemies! And then, after the enemies are killed, I find out that it's a dead-end. I find a box with some weapon upgrade stuff I already have 3-4 times. And then there is... literally nothing! I have to go back 300 meters of the exact same path and look for another dead-end with some other stupid decryption mini-game.
- Using the powers (from the weapon change pause menu) never worked for me. I tried several times, but it seems I don't understand the mechanics behind this to use it properly.
- There is so much to read or to listen. Yes, it's a role play game. In Life Is Strange there was much uninteresting stuff to find and read too. But there it was okay for me. In ME1 it's too much for me and doesn't catch my interest.
But with this crappy gameplay, stupid levels and so much to read I wouldn't have finished it anyway. The player knew the game from earlier and knew where to run. But even with that knowledge it took so many hours to finish.
