I have no idea. Saves should work without any problems. Moreover, saves from the disk can even work from different versions of the game, such as the mobile or online versions (yes, enthusiasts have made these versions on their sites) on the main offline (my) game version.

Pretty much, this is the first report that saves don't work between updates. Need more data, like, is it giving some kind of error? Or is it just not launching? Please attach the save file if possible. I'll test running it on different versions, maybe that will indicate what the problem is.
I get no errors and nothing implicates it wouldn't work. The old saves don't travel from the previous version, and when I downloaded them and then pressed the "load from disk" on the 1.6 version it clicks like normal but goes to the "restart" screen instead and the saves don't appear into the Save tab.

Edit. I also downloaded the new saves from the 1.6 version (which I already played to the current end), then deleted the saves and tried to load them from the disk and the same thing. It just goes straight to the "restart" screen and no saves are loaded into the game.

Just a heads-up regarding exported saves: those aren't full exports of all currently occupied slots but merely the current progress saved to a file on disk. To 'move' a slot to another browser you'd need to load said save, export it to disk, import (thus load) it into the other browser, and then save to the desired slot. It's basically unlimited save slots if you organize them well. :geek:

I kinda want to explore other options without going back from the beginning to edit my attributes. I tried the save editors I know and they aren't much help. Maybe I'm just using the wrong ones.
I know it's probably considered "cheating" but I'm just curious what the character would do. Is there a way to increase/decrease the stats fast?

Simply use your browser's console to alter the experience values of the corresponding stats, like SugarCube.State.variables.vigExp for vigor.

I double-checked how saving to disk works - everything functions. Also, if the problem was a general one, I'd be inundated with complaints about saves not working by now. Hence the conclusion is that your problem is individual. Assuming what it is, it's most likely the browser (changing it to another/new one, or changing the settings of the old one, etc, there could be many possible reasons), but that's just a guess.

In general, I can only help with things that are in my area of technical responsibility. Like bugs in the game code, broken links, typos, and all that sort of stuff. But the problem you described, alas, does not seem to be a consequence of anything like that.

Cheats are evil... Because!

Well seriously, if you're interested in the game and some alternate lines, they're most often tied to different Origins, not character Abilities. So messing around with the console to change Abilities isn't really worth it. More often than not, an Ability check turns things around a bit or changes the context, rather than opening up a whole new scene. Origins, on the other hand, do indeed add completely unique scenes/opportunities, though, not all the time, of course, but still. And I strongly advise against changing Origins through the console. You'll break your game, not instantly, but your saves will be corrupted and sooner or later you'll get into trouble.

Sure thing. You can also throw heavy or stinky objects at me. Because who's to blame if you break your game with cheats? Dev, dev, dev!
Yes, always blame the dev!
The other day, my car won't start. Who's fault? The dev!
Just this morning, my coffee was cold after I forgot it on the kitchen table. Who's to blame? The dev!
The dev! the dev! the dev!
Always the dev!

Just finished my first playthrough, and I gotta say... I can't wait for more.
Just curious though, other than Cadonis and the Blacksmith, who are the other characters that the player can have sex with? I mean, currently.

Barnabas (that big guy from the village), Iolanta (4 scenes), Meralion (2 scenes). Special scene for Survivor Origin (optional, flashback, rape gang bang). And a small flashback scene for the Vagrant Origin.

Looks like you need to play some more...

I hate Barnabas and I kinda ship Io with Meralion, so I kinda fine not seeing them and I've already seen the Survivor Origin. Maybe I'll try the Vagrant origin next.
I appreciate the input tho, thank you!

Hi, it's me again. I'm just wondering... will there be more options in the future to customize the character's appearance? Because I wanted to be Valatean, but I noticed I prefer the Yardanari's hair style.

Edit: Also, is there somewhere I can ask spoilery questions about the game without worrying about spoilers?

Well, what can I say? Tl;dr Came for a quick wank 40 days into NNN - stayed for the story, registered here for the sole purpose of making this comment. ;)

Also:
- Don't include lewd pictures. It's perfect the way it is.
- I'm in the "porn is degenerated" camp so this kind of 'erotic novel' seems like an alternative that hopefully kills no/less braincells.
- Getting seduced by Cadonis bothered me when I first encountered the scene. I think I didn't put any points in willpower at first, which made it feel irritatingly forced. But then again, that mostly came down to me not reading through the tutorial properly. From my 2nd playthrough on, I went with a versatile build and didn't have any issues anymore.
- The story is super cool: Meeting Pitchy in the tavern was probably what served as a first hint that there might be more to the story than it providing an excuse to string lewd scenes together (also who doesn't like to pet cats both in games as IRL?). Iolanta is a VERY likeable companion to have in that world and I appreciate the fact that she at least remotely behaves like a human being rather than randomly jumping on you upon first sight. Regarding Cadonis we must not forget that - while, depending on the background not necessarily a virgin - Selene certainly has relatively little experience with men and well, young women tend to have a high sex drive of their own so... It seems believable to me. I also like the scenes that are more wholesome than lewd, such as the one with Murella. At Ronan's house things then quickly get a lot more serious and the fact that enemies actually pose a threat one would want to avoid rather than them existing primarily as a source of XP for the protagonist to harvest, is a nice (mostly new) experience. After all, how many games are there where the rumours spread by the villagers are actually justified and the very first hostile encounter immediately turns out to be seriously life threatening?

Alas, I had to install all the things from scratch because [reasons], and thus my save has been nuked from orbit. While I enjoyed the fallen noble path well enough (though despite my best efforts she never really stopped being a bitch), any suggestion for the next origin to try out?

To avoid issues with saves, I will recommend to save on disk.
OK, unfortunately it can't help for your previous saves. But it will prevent future losses.

About the Origins, it's difficult to suggest the one you should try next, because it's totally depend of your tastes, which we don't know.
My two favorite Origins are the Survivor and the Vagrant.
Be cause I like to play female characters that overcome obstacles and become stronger.
Be warned that their background, especially for the Vagrant Origin, are rough.

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but Heiress had the most additional origin content. I wonder if it was first origin. Vagrant also has a lot of specific content available to it including a whole scene in the starting village.

The very first origin (draft) didn't make it into the game. There was a simple girl who lived with a father who drank and beat her, so she ran away (right to the game's beginning point). I didn't like it, it seemed dull and boring, so I told this girl bye-bye. In reworked form, her story went to Cadonis.

There was another origin, possible only for two ethnicities (northern and southern), something like a girl from a very far away lands. But neither it nor both ethnicities made it into the game either. I realized that too rare appearance is bound to cause a strong reaction in any settlement. And that entails several layers of extra work. So neither these origins nor too exotic (for the locals) ethnoses got into the game. Out of 6 origins and 6 ethnicities, there remained 4 and 4 respectively.

As it is, I am barely handling them, some still get more attention and unique scenes than others. Hopefully during development, I'll be able to "equalize" the unique content of all 4 origins.

A little mistake in my previous post, it's the Survivor Origin that has the rougher background.
Death of Selene's father in battle, murder of her mother, rape and murder of Selene younger sister, multiple rapes of Selene and her twin sister, and finally Selene had no choice but to abandon her to escape.
It's a very hard and bitter background, but I find it's make a very good one for role playing a young woman that have to become stronger and resolute.

For what it's worth as a random internet existence flitting curiously in a slooty game board here and there, I think you're doing a wonderful job. It's a unique story and setting, and I greatly look forward to each and every expansion that follows. Playing through again (this time as a survivor, it was a good suggestion!) was just as fun as the first, if not moreso, because I could pick up on bits here and there I had missed previously.

Alas, once again the attempts to seduce large, muscled and Yuti have gone without success, and Cadonis remains most likely the only one to not receive the touch of this resident redheaded protagonist, forced kiss scene aside.

I wasn't sure how much I'd dig the idea of running around with the troupe given what drove survivor there in the first place, but the writing made me a believer. I'm totally gelling with the reluctant merchant gradually turned actress and badass in equal measure.

Although with the successful survival of all characters (probably) from the last chapter, I can totally see this protagonist constantly pestering Yuti for sword and bow lessons, traditional roles be damned.

Again, great stuff!
