Personally, I am inspired by the very fact that someone is inspired by my work. And, yes, I like it. You can feel the author's style in the portrait.

Lower!
Maybe it's just me, but here's a curious thing. In the original portrait, PC is standing sort of slightly to the side, and the chest is only noticeable by a barely extended line on one side.
The first of the mods from Skaggg reflects this feature:
But the next one from lookinoff seems to turn the PC to face us and say, “Hey, lower!”
And with some of the npcs...

The portrait mod from ffive leaves the PC facing us and is like, "No, no! Too low, a little higher, but so that the cleavage line is visible".
The first and only so far hand-drawn version from yunayunayuna, also stops lower, at the cleavage line.
Conclusion. If one day I can afford to hire an artist (it's a long way off, but hey, you can dream, right?), I should probably tell him or her to do portraits below the bust line. I mean, it seems like people unconsciously want to look lower, beyond that dumb black line at the bottom xD
Yeah, by the way, if you want a mod with portraits that show breasts, there's absolutely nothing to stop you. Who would dare stand in the way of boobs? Certainly not me. I think that would be a huge competitive advantage for a mod like that xD
I can only speak for myself, but that's simply because it's what female chest is like.
Draw a horizontal line at armpit level and you'll note that parts of the breasts are above it, and hence visible in a picture which keeps the framing consistent with the original images. There's some additional shading given to it, to account for the fact that the same image is used as a layer for portraits where the character is dressed, and the clothing has some slight push up effect on their chest.
So no, i didn't so much aim the camera lower, as just included what has always been there. :v

Well done, yunayunayuna! For my part, I must say that I find your portraits of Selene very successful! Here is effectively a great proof of investment towards the game. I appreciated your work on the small details, as we can observe it on the nymph's mask for example. Continue in this way, that's just fine!
! Another thing: if I understood everything correctly, you practice the art of drawing as a hobby and not as a professional, right?+? i do consider myself a hobby artist! i wouldn't say i'm very good though lol. i do wanna do other characters as well, will see how i feel after doing all the versions of selene.Well done, yunayunayuna! This is the second (or third?) time I've seen someone call my work a “masterpiece”. Nah, not yet. Whether it's a masterpiece or just a freakin' piece will only be clear when it's completed. I've seen so many things that start out great but end up in such a shitty mess...
But the beginning seems to have worked out pretty well, I won't argue with that.

I think the only true Masterpiece that I've played in here would be The Last Sovereign.
I'm frustrated by this game, but in a good way. I like the story but holy cow the slow burn is KILLING ME. I want a time machine to get to play this when it's finally got act 1 completed or something so I'd know whether I should stay emotionally invested in this game or not. The writing is lewd yet it does good world building and character moments without being pretentious. It has the highest praise I can give it - I'm actually interested in playing this game without cheats. My only request would be, for cheating players, maybe give the option to "fail" checks in case they want to see what that option leads to. Yes, I know that I'm essentially playing this as a VN, DON'T JUDGE ME I'M TIRED OF SAVE SCUMMING.

Yep, I've seen the opinion that the plot is “treading water” so to speak. That both bothers me and, at the same time, not so much. The first chapter should give basic exposition, introduce the main character, and bring her into the story. The second (current) chapter should emotionally involve the player in the protagonist, build up the exposition some more, introduce the troupe's characters, and establish relationships with them. The third chapter will be more event-oriented, if I may say so. And only with the fourth, the main plot will start to work in full swing, and many hints, like puzzles of the mosaic scattered over the first three chapters (which you can find), will be folded into a more or less clear picture.
But can we say that this is when the plot really starts? I'm not sure. By and large, this story won't work, without the players' emotional involvement with the protagonist. And that takes time. Lots of "small" and even seemingly "unimportant" scenes are needed. If you compare the planned story to a rocket, the first three chapters are such a big fuel tank. Without them, this particular story won't fly anywhere. The tank has to be filled. To the brim.
As for the option to deliberately fail a check... Well, strictly speaking, the game has no random in checks, and "failing" equals not matching a characteristic for selection, making it gray and unclickable. To explore alternatives here it is more convenient to use the back-and-forth function (arrows in the upper left corner). That's exactly what it's for when you missclick or change your mind right after selecting a line. So you don't really need to save and load just for this matter.

hey hey, im still working on the portraits - after a bit of art block i can say i am 3/4ths done (had a bit of trouble with yardarian's selene's hair)! only ranalian selene left
Just tried this. Very enjoyable world building. Looking forward to where it goes from here.

So I know there isnt any combat system but is there combat checks, or will we just get beat tf up everytime and just focus on persuasion, also what is the point of agility and vigor for strength etc if it cant be used for defending yourself, also if you really dont like any sort of combat cause lets be honest medieval motherfuckers are strong, couldn't you just set the bar super high to defend yourself as a female or sum so its still- etc etc
I suggest you try the current version of the game, it'll answer most (or at least some) of your questions..?
