Seems liked I sparked quite an argument here. Cloud is undoubtedly the future, but personally, I doubt that the majority of the indie game devs here will bother to secure their work with some fancy NAS-encryption-tech-online-thingy any time soon. For most, it is a passion and a hobby, which hopefully pays back a bit. There are online adult games right now, but I believe those to attract a totally different audience..
Of course devs are sometimes upset when their game is released only hours later on a site like this one, but on the other hand this is a way to attract future paterons. I know I became Patreon after I liked a game a few updates in a row.
But, if Joe is right and this does inevitably become a trend, casual adult gamers like myself are out. don't want to be logged and traced any more than I need to be. By the way, this ain't my real pic in the profile either.. ;-)
