VN - Ren'Py - Innocent Witches [v0.11 Alpha] [Sad Crab]

Game features beautiful art and semi interesting characters but lack of any real progress and moderate story is this games downfall. Game devs for some reason trying to make the best looking intro chapters in the world but the story is going no where for probably more than a year. Also no nudity with the main girls and you can only bone an old lady and see some ghost tits. Probably they will move the story in 3 years or so as the devs will polish the shit out of the first 4 intro chapters before continuing the story so come back then.

I'm baffled by this game.

The art in itself is like a masterpiece. So is the one sex scene that has been completed. Going by art, it should be a 5.

But, there are some very fundamental issues with it, issues that are bordering on shocking at this point.

The game has been in development for years. And it doesn't have much finished art. People who like it excuse this by saying that it's a story game. And yet, it doesn't have much story. It has maybe a few weeks worth of writing done. After 2 years. And to make things even worse, the writing isn't very spread out. I guess what I'm trying to say is like, the game has lots of ways of interacting. Dialogue, day and night, time of day, schedules, different girls. And yet, and YET, the story it tells is 100% linear. So you could completely strip out all the gameplay, and make it a pure visual novel, with just a "next" button for the dialogue.

And if you did that, it'd be a laughably short, almost no art, visual novel.

The missed potential here is enough to turn me into a sad crab.

After playing through all the way to chapter 4 I found I had no more patience with this game. There is only one scene with nudity and the game itself is extremely dull and feels incredibly long and drawn out with the lack of anything even remotely adult . If this game ever decides to actually add any "debauchery" like in the description I will replay it but if I could give it a zero I would. There just isn't any content besides a straight linear line.

Game has been in development for over 18 months and features only one limited H-scene with the oldest, least desirable character. Devs have never addressed the length it takes to (not) deliver content. With the amount of money they have pulled in (over 40k), hundreds of scenes could have been commissioned by any competent artist.

Innocent Witches seems promising at first. The art looks fantastic, the setting was explored in AKABUR's Witch Trainer to great success and it seems like the team behind IW decided to expand on that game and give a better experience for fans.

This promise is what has earned all of the positive reviews so far.

All this game has is promise though. Well...promise and a shitload of tiresome dialogue that goes absolutely nowhere. As of the review we're two and a bit days away from the second anniversary of this game and it's currently on version 0.1b. Two entire years and the game is barely in a state worth playing. A two year old reviewer would have experience about as much content as I have and yet people are still praising what is looking more and more like a cheap attempt to make a lot of money.

The fantastic art doesn't make up for the fact that at the rate this game is being developed we won't be seeing a completed product until 2030. When that date finally arrives I hope you enjoy having the game pumped straight into your brain via cybernetic chip, but until then this is nothing more than false promise and I'd recommend looking at pretty much any other game.

Hell, go play AKABUR's Witch Trainer or the many modded versions of that game. You're getting that full Hogwarts experience without having to wait years to play the entire game.

I am a fan of slow build up games, where you have to "work" to get to the sex part. That being said, this game could have a little more naughty stuff in it. It came to a point where I don't even expect anything to happen anymore and that comes from someone who totally prefers slow build ups.

Beside that, the production quality of this game is insane. Probably one of the best in this genre. I will definitely keep track of this game.

The desing is good, the artists did a great job. maybe if they did a doujin it would be nice.

The game is still very early in development. There is minimal adult content. That said, the art is superior, among the best, warranting the 4 star rating. Plus it's Harry Potter, come on... It's only going to get better as they add more content and the story becomes fleshed out.

Everything, pereproshel, bugs - except for the starting month of June, and already solved problems with the invisible menu on the right side of the screen, everything seems okay. I found a couple of small misprints at the edge of my eye, but since I was squeezing an impressive piece, I could have missed something. It was nice to pass the BORD with new mechanics and a visual component. What kind of altbord I did not understand, but maybe someone will tell you later. As for the consultation - I do not know if there are so many options for finding information, for I found only a modest part, but if so - it's great. Both Ruta with our witches and walks more than a lamp, really enjoyed it. I support Zatoy with the fact that you can discuss several issues with the girls during the call, this is a big plus. In general, everything was pleasant, we are waiting, with what will happen next. Oh yes, to blow up a phoenix at any time is a controversial decision, but probably the explanation of this action will be later.

the game is a scam, the project has a great artist, but thats all. they don't build a game, since nearly 2 years now.
the existing game, is a mostly text-only-based game, with some well drawn arts as background, but the game is advertised as a graphic game. and thats a lie.
i have no clue, why the dev-crew is failing in building this game, but 2 years a to long, for discussing stuff without doing it.

I really like the direction in which the developers of this game are moving, the art does not cease to surprise me, for this it is worth to thank their artist.
Compared with the 0.0.3 version in the game, enough content was added, but of course I want more.
The problem with this game lies in its complexity and lengthy narrative, not everyone can go through the game.

I like the amount of text in the game. It allows to tell the plot to the player in details and during this process players get attached to the main characters of the game. After some point you can even get to see some erotic content. Although developers have many ideas they haven't abandoned the project and provide somewhat regular updates. So all we have to do is wait and let them work. I mean, just look at this gorgeous art. It takes a lot of time to be drawn by an artist who is working on the project as his hobby.

This game is pretty good. Yeah i know that it has been in development for a long time and that there is very less H content. There is more of a effort on story than H content. The art style is nice and then interactivity with the UI, for e.g the clock in the Headmaster's office i din't know it is clickable. There is no hand holding. But I found myself reading the dialogs between the characters. And maybe it was because I knew most of the characters already, so I could relate to them

Ok my issues with the game are arrangement of the story script. The story flow is off. Not sure how to solve this problem. I think the issue was in the writing of the script from the start.

There are spelling errors and grammatical errors. All this can be cleared up.

Better than I expected from comments, reviews and the version number. The art looks nicer than most 2D games I have played, and the story/backstory was fun to read about. I got plenty of hours of play although I admit the game crashed twice. I'd give it 4/5 but it has such a low rating that I cannot help it. EDIT as of June 24 2019: It has improved quite a bit since then (although I'm more picky as well). The UI needs polishing tho.

So I have followed the game till v0.1a(?). I loved the art style and the UI although slightly buggy. It's way different from the wide and useless, same and boring UI from most VN 3dcg games. Although it's 2D the artwork is impressive and it is to be noted that it is well detailed and not a rushed job. This may explain why the devs take a long time to release a patch, but yes content wise based on the time required is quite low. So far there is one sex act and others are still in development. Each characters have unique designs and not a copy paste ritual. Should the devs release more worthwhile content the game would be one of the best VNs out there. There is a slight similarity to Akabur's Gameplay style. However the story and the UI makes it all worthwhile to follow.

I would love to see the game in full swing and I wish the devs all the best as they really need that to finish on time :/ else my grandkids may see the completion of the game.

Pro's - Visuals are excellent, Interface and sound are good.

Con's - Dialogue is terrible, at least translated to English, can't comment on Russian. Also far too lengthy. Both these combined contribute to it not being very intuitive in knowing what to do to progress and also makes it far too tedious. If they could sort the cons and be a little more honest with their schedule, they would have a top class game on their hands and some very happy players/patreons.

It looks really promising, but does not deliver at all. Hardly any H-content at all, and waaayyy to much time spent on a not very interesting story. It takes a couple hours to play through everything thats in the game currently and in all of there only one character is ever naked. For a game that's been in development for over two years, they really have very little to show for it. I wouldn't support them honestly, as they clearly do not intend on keeping any promises. At this right, I'd expect a full game in about a decade.

The crux of the game is a bit of a peep, with no real content to peep at. It's well written, besides average word flaws. There is potential, but due to the long overdue in game updates, I don't see anything special about this game. It's just a mediocre game, nothing special at all.

Excelent art, excelent story, but I wouldn't suggest for people who don't like to read. The game has a deep kind of depressing atmosphere which adds a lot in my opinion.

As for the porn content, at the moment it has a very well made and beautiful minigame with Minerva, which is more or less a proof o concept, but it shows the potential of how awsome it will be when it get to the heroines.

At last, you can't rush art.
