Maybe it is a reaction from people who've seen the 5 star reviews which this game definitely does not deserve. Like mine. I haven't played this game until this whole 2 years of non content drama started. I checked it out and I have to say, I can write something better. Maybe it is a good thing that this game exists because it motivates people like me who are aspiring writers thinking they are not good enough yet to put themselves out there to put out a product, because if this game can make it with this level of writing; I can too.We asked people to leave reviews in our Discord in public chat, no one said what rating to leave, people who hate us can leave 1 stars as well. Also, it's interesting to see right after any 5 star an equal amount of 1 star ratings appear, maybe we need a can of cope too

I don't know if the developer checks this page's comments, but i'd like to write down some feedback here. I do not wish to add.. smaller numbers to the overall rating.
I dont know much of the details but from what I've read in a few reviews (in the rating tab) it seems that someone started developing the game but later on someone else took over? if so, my sympathies for the bravery of taking over a game with such low rating.
anyway...
Ive played the game before, like 8 months ago maybe and I didnt had much of a positive attitude towards it. There were too many things going around there except the most required one (for this page anyway) - the fap material.
Based on the personal experience and the fact that the reviews werent getting any better, i kind of lost interest in the game.
But since i got more free time nowdays, Ive decided to check on the progress.
Unfortunatelly, I dont see much of an improvement. It is possibly because I didnt managed to get past the "previous" content (meaning the content created by the original developer). I was able to get further then before but Ive lost the interest once again, sorry...closed the game somewhere in the process of chasing swimsuits as a headmaster...
I consider myself a true fan of a well written story with a lot of text, lot of background information, wide number of characters that fits nicely into the overall story, all of that, but... not in a game like this :/ I admit that Ive skipped like 80% of a dialogues in the game (well, in the part that I was able to play before ive lost the interest again..).
why? Because the story itself isnt intriquing enough for me... Some stupid guy (not as an insult, but as an actual state of his knowledge) gets the headmaster position in a school where every NPC has to explain everything to him in detail, as a headmaster he cant even get out of his office by the doors because some student wont let him leave (??), he cant wander around the castle but instead he sends other NPC to go around the castle themselves, gathering some info for him. I got the feeling that even Filch got more rights in this castle then headmaster...
Its good that the game provides assistance with solving riddles, puzzles, progress and stuff but its only for like...well, untill you have a pep talk with Snape and then the game shuts all the assistance with "GL, Im out"...
Large number of choices dont really matters and are there just for the effect. Like, when the prefects first come to your office while you are exploring the small statue... plus you often dont have any idea if you are talking to yourself/statue or to the prefects...
The game could use some kind of notification of the overall direction you should be heading. The students presents some sort of ... changes in the school rules, then suddenly you discover that the prefects meet together somewhere, suddenly it got you very much interested, suddenly you are trying to solve their ideas of the rules changes while simultaneously trying to figure out where are they gathering that suddenly reveals to you that you need to get them NEW swimsuits by stealing their swimsuits from their rooms. I know that everything might be explained in the avalanche of text you got there but again... sorry, the story isnt intriquing enough to read all of that stuff and neither are the possibilities
if you are playing a headmaster, one could expect that you will be able to ... i dont know, change to school rules somehow like... no clothing permitted in the castle,permitted masturbation in the halls, bedrooms where boyz and girlz would sleep together, not separated ones or maybe bathrooms used the same way or for example to disable the curfew... not stealing girls swimsuits from their chambers or solve their cooking/overeating problems...
Ive literally spent 7 hours doing anything but acting like a headmaster.. hell I cant even masturbate in my office if Rovena isnt there...
Tge game got astonishing graphics with so much awesome details in the drawings, ive even found some easter eggs there! also the setup with achievements and codex-like screens are nice, which would be enough to create a great game for a serious money but not if the game was intented to be a sexual/porn game originally
I apologize for the negative rating I provided... Im sure you are trying your best to update the game and make new contents but... simply, for me the game is badly built up from the start.
I wish you all the best and good luck with a hope that I might finally be intriqued enough in the next 6 months or so, if I managed to find enough time and will to try this game once more

Not just writers, lol.
The game is a great example for UX/UI designers, since it has a fairly good individual UI elements, yet a bad UI overall; and just abysmal UX.
I was going to write a bit about it in a review or maybe a comment here. Then I realized that if by any chance the devs would take my suggestions to heart, that would mean even more delays, more effort diverted to non-core aspects of the game
Pretty ironic, but it's better if the devs don't try to improve some aspects of the game. I will be recommending this game as a case of how not to do UX and writing at the very least.And sorry, Joe, I know you're the new management but it looks it would take a lot more effort to improve things.

Do yourself a favour and restart a new game from chapter 5. Chapters 1-4 are pretty much the old game that the previous dev created that you already said you didn't like. Chapter 5 is really where the new devs material begins and is a big improvement over what came before.Hello.

You might still not like it but at least you'll get a feel for whether you like the new devs style. It's still low on content although the Ginny scene is excellent.

but how does it work? is it like... new start or do you miss all the content from chapters 1-4? I dont know if it is a good idea to start playing in the middle of the game.
Error when trying to decrypt Ginny's diary. Also the ability to grade papers never appears. All in 0.4.1F
Somehow you skipped the language choice at the start of game, did you enable developer mode somehow?
We have commited a fix that will be in the next release and forward to account for this, so thank you.

Not planned, keep getting asked, will get the main girl content out and then revisit her, so not for a while.
I really enjoy writing her a lot more, so I am definitely going to do something at some point.
It's interesting to read a review where you say you didn't play past any existing content that you already said you didn't like. We have a chapter skip menu, there's new content in Chapter 5, you can use our save skip most of the grind. Hopefully, you will take the time to do that and let us know what you think after, about the new content.Hello.

Wait... What!? I'm sorry but if you check the best rated games around this forum, their content heavily focuses on good writing, good character development as well as good scenes. People read the story if it is interesting and hate it if you throw in sex scenes with no substance to it even if they are high quality. You have to balance 3 of them. Content, gameplay and writing. Like a 3 legged stool falls over when 1 leg breaks.Write a game no one will read and do it exceptionally well or focus on content and gameplay?
I don't know what happened behind the scenes but if you picked up this game from ch 5... Mate you're better of rebooting it because original writer sounds like a 12 year old boy
I will get around to editing it, look in previous posts. Focus right now is content, you can simply skip that stuff atm. 10k to have a professional editor to edit the 250k previous words.
You are correct but given that a lot of people do completely skip the text, I just don't thinking telling people to wait while we redo all the text and focus on fixing the story will garner the type of support the game needs to get to actually accomplish what you are suggesting. It's not that you are wrong, it's that like I said, not our current focus.

anyway, yes someone already mentioned the chapter 5 and I will deffinitely give it a shot, i just worry if the game will still make sense if you start in the middle/end of the current content, rather then in the beggining. :/
if I might jump into this conversation a little and have a stupid question... you are saying that re-making the bad part is not a priority and that your current focus is a new content. How will ppl play this new content while, like 70% of them, arent able to get past the old content? Sure, you can throw in a skip choice to avoid the bad part and throw players out in the middle of the game where they got no idea whats going on, who are they or who they should be talking to about certain things but Im not sure that this is a great choice.
I'd say re-making the bad part to be playable for once should bring more ppl in, even those that official dumped this game before. Erase 40% of the text (not rewriting it, erasing it. You can bring ppl by rewriting the current "story" into a good story but it would really need to be a good story, not just anything avarage), add some more spicy things in there, more stuff do to, things like that to make it more lively, active, busy).
Lots of ppl dont take critique well so im trying to be as polite as i possibly can but I really think that adding new content instead of rewriting old one will not help you much there.
I might be wrong though. Have you tried throwing some polls here and there to see what would ppl actually like more?
