Public news 01.02.2024
Hello, everyone!
February is upon us, therefore we're here to update you on the current development progress of 0.11A, the upcoming seasonal event, and the whole game in general. Let's start!
First, the art-preview. This time it's an event that will happen as a part of 0.11A. Daphne is participating in a fashion club activity together with other students from Slytherin.
Next, the details about the upcoming seasonal event:
Speaking of which, here are some of the tasks that we’ve completed and which are still in progress based on the current state of 0.11A:
Finished:
As you can see, many of the tasks are already finished, but the main one (the new chapter) is still in progress. The main reason why it takes so much time for this update is the amount of the new art that is planned for this update. Three new locations took a considerable time, and a new fullscreen scene required even more time from the artists. The complexity of the art combined with the volume of texts caused the development of 0.11A to stretch too much in time, hence the delay to the release. However, as we always said the development continues and while the art is being created we can focus on all the tasks that involve existing art and mechanics. As an example in this case it's Live2D animations, Minerva's scene and also Hermione's minigame, among other things that didn't get into the changelog.
As a conclusion, we're currently aiming at the release of 0.11A in February. First we will release the seasonal patch on 14th of February which will include the short event with Hermione, after that we will focus on finishing the work on 0.11A and releasing it before the end of the month.
There’s one more thing we want to mention before wrapping up. In the current state the game feels much more like a continuous story and we think it needs more interactive events that should help diversify the things available in the game. At the moment we’re looking closely at the potion making and various interactions it can bring into the game. Being a side activity it will involve going through some events in the potions classroom and other locations, and getting rewarded as a result. Ultimately, our goal here is to experiment and try adding something that is a bit different from what everyone is used to in Innocent Witches, and possibly bring some of the mechanics that are more common for other types of games. We’ll keep you updated on this as the time goes. First though, we will need to release the seasonal patch and 0.11A, but our scenario team can already now begin working on adding the events to the potions classroom and plan ahead.
Let’s wrap this up with a voting round. Regarding the previous paragraph, how do you feel about developers trying to experiment and possibly go outside of the usual flow of things in the game? Or do you prefer a steady and predictable progress of the events in the game you play? Please let us know by voting or commenting below!
We’ll meet again in 10 days. Until then, stay safe and have fun!
Peace✌

Hello, everyone!
February is upon us, therefore we're here to update you on the current development progress of 0.11A, the upcoming seasonal event, and the whole game in general. Let's start!
First, the art-preview. This time it's an event that will happen as a part of 0.11A. Daphne is participating in a fashion club activity together with other students from Slytherin.
Next, the details about the upcoming seasonal event:
- First, the event will be focused on the theme of St. Valentine's Day.
- Second, it will also integrate the recent competition for the title for Miss Hogwarts that was conducted at the end of December, 2023.
Speaking of which, here are some of the tasks that we’ve completed and which are still in progress based on the current state of 0.11A:
Finished:
- Added an expanded fullscreen scene with Minerva which includes a new item and interactions with it based on the existing scene at the table.
- Reintegrated most of the art involved in Minerva's scene from the old plot.
- Added Live2D animations for Daphne's scene (at the end of Act 1).
- Added Live2D animations for Elf-maid's scene in the bedroom.
- Added a new background for the main menu together with a new music track (static for now, Live2D animations are coming).
- Expanded the functionality that allows switching the background for the main menu together with the music theme.
- Added new music tracks for the recently added locations, together with Potions Classroom.
- Added an ability to repair the broom in Chapter 4.
- Added an ability to start the events that lead to Myrtle’s scene in any chapter after chapter 4.
- Added a botched cake art to Susan's Halloween event for better immersion.
- Fixed many typos, grammar mistakes and other game bugs in general based on your reports (thanks! <3).
- Added a new chapter that continues the events of the prologue in Act 2.
- Added three new locations - Great Hall, Divination Classroom and Hufflepuff Common Room, all of which are a part of the new chapter.
- Added a new fullscreen scene with Elf-maid.
- Added new music theme for Elf-maid including erotic version.
- Added a new interactive mechanic for casting spells during certain events.
As you can see, many of the tasks are already finished, but the main one (the new chapter) is still in progress. The main reason why it takes so much time for this update is the amount of the new art that is planned for this update. - I want you to try new things with the game and add new things to do. This is a must for the game to be good!
- I like the flow of the game and I don’t want to be distracted with additional mechanics.
- Not sure about this, experimenting is essential, but maybe it’s not the right way in the context of Innocent Witches…
- I don’t care / I want to see the results.
We’ll meet again in 10 days. Until then, stay safe and have fun!
