I haven't come across the shop event yet, probably because I don't go there much since unlocking work at the Theater, but have had a few events for kids. How old are your kids, perhaps they are still too young to unlock the events?

- Estimates for trading locations: Alleyway (80% success, ~$90), Old Channel (70%: $104 – 136), Old Town (60%, $140-165), Park (65%, $157 – 164), Store (55%, $173 – 220 with boost)

I had a few at 1-3 and a pair at something between 11-15. I've stopped playing for now because of how empty the game felt, I'll surely go back in a few updates.
They come up at the start of new months and may need to be a certain age to unlock them.
not a bad game, but i tend to agree with others, why wait or sleep for a month and not say a week.but need a few more things to do whilst not working etc
The MC is basically immortal and the dev wants very large time passages to age everyone, so a month is actually a pretty good period when you think about it, since a week would actually increase the grind by 5 times.
I'd add that the use of the word "hibernate" and not sleep is intentional to emphasize the fact that the MC is no longer a regular human, but something more like an animal or beast, which I'd say not coincidentally he is called during sex scenes. ( :

The read me says to open python in the folder and then run a command in there.
I'm not proficient in python at all and tried to follow the steps and this is what happens.
My guess is, that I didn't correctly locate the folder even though it opens as I think it should?

This looks like you opened python and then ran "python countresources.py" inside the python shell. You need to do so in your OS's shell - so probably either PowerShell or Bash, depending on whether you use Windows or Linux.
In Windows, just shift+right-click in the directory of the game and click on "Open in Terminal". Not sure what the easiest way to do that is in Linux.
These events randomly appears right after hibernation but only when at least one of your dauthers is 7/10/13/15 years old.
And look's like here is a potential problem caused by long Hibernation or spell "Maturitas". Because of this childrens can grow to fast.
For example: they can quickly grow up from 6 to 8 years old. And then you will never see their events for 7 years age.
Second problem: chances for this random events is not too high. I tested with only one 7 years old dauther. And the event with her appear after 5-7 monthly hibernations.

Education events are not supposed to all happen on the same child, and they do seem currently well balanced in terms of probability. You will be more likely to see them all if MC has several kids growing up. Also the ages are ranges of 3 years, so what you're saying is not true, you won't completely miss the chance of seeing one just by casting Maturitas with critical success. Obviously if you spam Maturitas on one child you will skip all possible education, and that does kinda make sense.

No. Currently if you have one daughter, you get 2.5% chance every month to trigger an education event (if age is between 4 and 18). That means 1 chance on 40, so if you live month by month you have a high chance to encounter the event for that particular age range (3 years = 36 months). If you have several kids, the probabilities go up, so for instance if you have three of 8, 12 and 16 years old, there will be a around 10% chance every month to trigger an education event, which is a lot.
I might refine that in the future but I like it as it is. It is meant to give you a pretty reasonable chance to trigger the events (it's not the end of the world if you miss a few of them for one specific child), and at the same time not spamming you with them even if you have lots of kids.
The age ranges currently are : 4 to 7 (1 event), 7 to 10 (2 events), 10 to 13 (3 events), 13 to 15 (2 events), 15 to 18 (3 events).
No sexual content there of course, it only has an impact on stats, but in one of them you get to meet another kid's mother.
