From what i know she's just found by dumpster, like everyone else on this thread knows and you. Emily only went to confirm Rachel's id. There's no mentioning on how Rachel died whether she's strangled, killed by knife or some other sharped objects, gun, you can pick your poison. She could be at wrong time and at the wrong place, maybe saw and hear what she should not but then again you have to remember that Layla mentioned, if i'm not mistaken, that another girl was found dead. So it's obvious this had happened before to other girls beside Rachel. The question is for how long this is happening? Killer could be character we didn't met yet. It could also be someone we met already. I purely mentioned John as possible suspect because of several reasons. Like where is his ex? Also keep in mind that Rachel was killed just in the time when John and Iris came back. Also i wouldn't exclude that this is a deed of female. When driven by any motion peoples, regardless of gender, are capable of anything.Sorry I forgot, but how did Rachel die? More specifically, what was the cause of death: shot, stabbed, strangled, beaten to death???
Maybe you can count, because these variations can rule out certain perpetrators... I'm also suspicious of Brooke, but I don't think she would use a knife on anyone or beat anyone to death... So in this case, a female perpetrator cannot be considered... However, I also like John- t, and I don't think she's the culprit... Even if we don't know much about her backstory... However, I have a theory, which may be silly, but what if Nyx is just messing with the players' minds and the killer is a completely unknown person whom we don't know, and only Rachel was in the wrong place at the wrong time (for example, they wanted to rob her and this happened)... in other words, we are straining our brains unnecessarily...

Hmmm... ok, how big is this city, how many people does it have, what are the crime statistics? Just because Leyla mentions that another girl died, it must be a small town with a small population? And that's why it's interesting that someone died again?... These are just assumptions... Of course I knew that he was found next to the trash...

One thing i worry about with this type of "decision" is that Nyx has to balance her desire to surprise with telling a good story, and i worry about the surprise factor winning out.
For example the John theory for me seems more like trying to catch people off guard than making sense(no offense meant to those who champion it).
It would be devastating for Iris, but it feels "he's a sociopath who hides in plain sight for... reasons".
Weaving it back into the escort business is the most likely source. The game lives and breathes on that type of interwoven action. While it was likely not Ethan, it is more probable that it was one of the men who run that part of the business or one of the Johns who was using her as an escort.
Why the escort business? Well, that is right up Rachel's alley, no pun intended. She was certainly attractive enough to catch the eye of one of their recruiters. Shady, sexual, and arrogant enough to go into that kind of work. As for the escort business itself, that type of business is known for its shady operations, drug use, and even murders and missing women.
It will eventually come back to Ethan, his father, and their business.
It all makes for a nice intertwined plot.

You can theory craft if you want, but I find thinking John is involved is laughable. The murder cases are probably tied to Ethan's shady business, nothing more. They get rid of problematic girls

Hasn't John only just moved back to town with Iris? With Layla mentioning the other dead girl we're definitely meant to believe that whoever killed Rachel has killed before in the same town, sure that rules John out as he wasn't even living there at the time of the first murder (assuming it was before MC moved back as we didn't hear anything about it until Rachel's murder).

that's what I thought too when i first read his theory about John but then i figured maybe he was back longer than we thought like 2-3 months or something and we just never ran into him to know.
Wait for the special alternate secret path in next version in which there will be the big reveal that not only Rachel faked her death but is additionally revealed as being the MC father just before her sex changing surgery !
I think they've been in town for awhile(Iris and John), Iris shares a dorm with Alexis for some time now (one semester maybe?), Iris and the MC split up before the flashback that introduces Cara/Nikki(his stay in Riverside isn't clearly defined but feels like at least 2 months to me), and apparently he had the time to nail a whole bunch of girls before moving to Riverside.
I presume it's a small place, not a village but rather lets say medium sized town. When Layla mentions another girl died i've got this vibe that Rachel wasn't the only girl. In fact i think more girls than two were killed so number could be higher. This is clear indication that we have serial killer who specifically kills only girls.
Now for part where Rachel is Iris's mother. I don't think she's the mom of Iris. If she was i don't think Iris would go partying on beach with Lexi, Erynn and MC. Perhaps she knew something about Iris's mom, who knows? This game is after all called Intertwined where characters are connected in different ways.

It wasn't an agreement on my part, just a hint for the sake of the game... Of course we don't know Rachel's age, but just an example: Melissa, the hottest chick in the game, and if we didn't know she was Erynn's mother, you wouldn't tell her how old she is... That is in such games even the Milf characters are often better than the teenage girls...

Damn picking the order of hotness is a tough one in this cause it's really hard not to show any bias cause of how much I like a character. Like Val she has best face out of the bunch to me but the question is do I think she is hottest. So here is my list of hotness but i'm going to be honest there is some bias in it because it's just hard to look past it. Like Erynn for example that photoshoot scene she was so hot in it hard not to show bias there on top of her being my favorite character.But I will reserve that hottest chick in the game for Lexi, Layla, Erynn, Elena, and Val, in that order on most days!

I will not argue with your choices, because they are your decisions... We are not the same, so everyone is free to choose...
That's why I'm staying with Melissa, with or without a tattoo, she's the best for me... And I'm still saying that she's not LI in the game...
I'm not ranking the girls long, but I can say that I'm looking forward to the Erynn "action" scene...
