And yeah, Erynn was very surprised by the declaration... she had no such thoughts regarding him, to her he was just the little boy next door.

I'll even say that from the perspective of an Erynn romance the 5 year break was a positive, for her to stop seeing him as the little boy next door and more like a man.
And the fact that he wanted her all those years ago, there's always that "does he still feel like that?" Question in the air.

I think that Erynn does/did love the MC, but back then it was more of a sibling love for her. There are a few times in the game where I question that though. During the confrontation with Lexi, Erynn says "But you know how I feel about him!" "You know how much I missed him and how happy I am that he's back" and implies that only Lexi knows her feelings about the MC.
I agree that the 5 year break was a positive for their relationship to take a romantic turn. As hard as it was for them, it was necessary.

I don't think only Lexi knows how she feels though, Mel probably does and I suspect Ethan too, which is why he's antagonising MC after returning. Erynn never cared about him as much as she did MC, so he starts manipulating Zach to betray his oldest friend.

The 5 year break allows her to see him in a different light now that he's grown up, had they kept being neighbors it may have been harder for her to see him in this fashion.

I think even though she thought of him as a brother, that declaration in the backyard stuck with her(and she probably talked about it with Alexis, before and after the MC coming back into town, so Alexis knows).


They talked about things since Erynn also knows about the stolen kiss.

But when you are 16, dating a 13 year old or even looking at a 13 year old that way is just a....no. I usually have to say this in defense of Erynn and the MC's "confession" but I think that the same applies to Lexi as she was also 16.

Was actually dating one but to be fair, looked no where near my age.
Being taller then her wasn't just the case, worked out 3x a day.
Not unheard of when two genuinely long for each others company.

Sometimes most unplanned odd things can happen between friends.

I especially liked it when he tried to ask a perverted question to control the flow of the game, and she answered right away. I like the fact that it's their special game.

Perhaps that's true, but that was not the case here. The pictures show an older sister/younger brother dynamic. Their time together was more than likely when they were alone. Erynn was hanging out with her friends when the admission happened. Her first instinct was to defend her younger brother, who was getting picked on; it wasn't going to see how MC was feeling or even to reassure him.
Ethan knew nothing; he was just working on his isolate Erryn operation. His first step was chasing away the pesky younger neighbor.

If MC had stayed, Erynn would have made the same mistakes, which weren't mistakes, as I don't imagine she'd figure out that Ethan had cameras in her bedroom. The only difference is that MC isn't an outsider, so it's a totally different dynamic. He might even get shut out like everybody else.

The only thing that makes me think Erynn had deeper feelings when they were younger was when she mentioned her Prom and because MC wasn't there, she went with Zane instead.

She actually went with Ethan to the prom after he used the sex tape to blackmail her. She didn't explain things to Zane so they broke up after she declined his prom invitation and went with Ethan.

I think he knows about the tape, having it leak and ruining Erynn's rep is being held over his head. He did recently suffer a broken nose, perhaps for his refusal to do the photoshoot with Erynn.

I can't even remember what he offered Zach. Did he buy the car for him? or was it just an invite to the modelling show?
