It does not make sense but we are talking about this because dev once said she is going to die. Though dev is not the most trustable person with these kinda information.
Tbh, I don't think she can kill her. She also said Erynn's mom, forgot her name, will be LI but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Maybe John dating Emily can open a path MC dating her but I am skeptical.I hope Nyx won't be a pussy about it and just kills her anyway, gonna love the raging on here
Can't be final though, if she is going to add another option. I wonder how she will solve Elena thing. Btw, Is Elena a LI?

I can see Nyx pulling some shit where she dies on one path and not the other as with previous LI like Alexis and Erynn if you fuck up bad Nyx has no issue basically getting rid of them from your path / game unless you have to interact with them
It rang like a warning "make a call or things will get BAD" to my ears, to me it sounded like that we are gonna get the last "safe exit" point pretty soon and after that ALL BETS ARE OFF.

Elena is a LI according to Nyx, however her path is badly stuck in the mud and i have no idea what will happen there, it doesn't look like we are any closer to dealing with the Layla issue.
Making the world burn does have a few challenges and risks involved
But fuck it, i want to make friends and family fight each other, let it burn!!!!

Nikki was also supposed to die, according to Nyx, but she is now a LI. You can't take a lot that Nyx says seriously, other than it might be trolling. Unless it's in the game, it's not set in stone.
I think the only 100% absolute thing Nyx has said is there will be no incest. Until she shows anything else in the game it'd be safe to assume she's just trolling the incest fans, as she seems to enjoy doing it.
MC and Melissa is not related, nor John and Emily. So no incest going on there. Iirc, she gave LI list which included Melissa and excluded Val.
Iirc, it was an answer to that on discord. She said she changed Nikki's path but not going to change Val's. Though, you are right, nothing she said can be trusted.
Ahh misread your first part. You mentioned Emily's name, then John, then said if they were dating it could open an LI path. You were referring to Emily and John dating, and that possibly opening Mel's path? I hope not.
If the MC has enough Emily Points, and he says he'd prefer she didn't, then she won't date John. So that'd lock anyone out of a possible Mel path for anyone that didn't let them date. There'd have to be an alternate path to Mel's if it's added, should you decline Emily dating John. If Mel gets a path, I think/hope it'll be unrelated to Emily dating John.
That's making an assumption that Nyx didn't/doesn't have a path worked out for Val and just hasn't been talking about it. Or more deliciously, trolling about it.

I'm completely opposite on this. I can't see it at all because it would vastly increase development time. You suddenly need double the scenes/dialogue related to the aftermath of her death from now until the end of the VN.
It's why most deaths in other VNs (Megan/Melissa, Stella) are canon events that happen regardless of route.
Nyx has no problem dunking the MC for the player making bad decisions but Alexis isn't going to wind up dead in a ditch somewhere if you two time her and Erynn. She will end up dead in a ditch if she calls Melissa a milf though.
Yeah, I had to check Melissa's name, could not remember so it was kinda hard to understand that part. I feel like Mel waiting for John's return so, if she learns about John and Emily and how happy Emily is, then she could give up on John. This could mean she could give a chance to new opportunities. If Emily realizes John is the Mel's ex, I don't think she would go against MC&Mel relationship. I think MC not being on Erynn's path, MC helping Erynn also needed.
Could be, I thought that's a likely possibility, that's all.
She is basically trolling about everything but she said she is serious about that. Still though, Nyx being Nyx is possible.
I would say if Emily and John dating was canon in the game, it'd be an easier sell. The only problem is that there's a 50/50 chance that a player will chose that route, assuming they have enough Mel points.
All my main playthroughs (all LIs) I declined Emily dating John. So I'd never get to see Mel's path then until I get around to the secondary ones. That'd be annoying to me. Emily and Brooke will be together before I get Emily and John together.
My secondary playthroughs (also all LIs) Emily is dating John, but they are not my first interest so I'll get to them at some point. If I can't get Emily and Brooke together, Emily and John will be my bottom priority.
Maybe but it's not uncommon in this game. If you don't choose Layla, you can't get Elena or if you choose Layla you can't get Val. I can't remember all but I think there were some paths to choose to reach other paths. So hiding Mel's path behind Emily&John dating is not against dev's MO.
Btw, I don't get Brooke obsession, she is weird and possibly a murderer.
Elena's path, assuming there will be a full LI path, is virtually impossible to just stumble across. Same with the ASP path. Brooke's personality, outgoing nature, and passion, would be a fantastic fit for Emily. She needs someone just like Brooke to draw Emily out of her quiet restaurant-oriented life. Mel is very similar to Brooke, personality-wise and Mel and Emily go very well together.
