This really has been the perfect update, the individual sections for each girl are amazing and it feels like it finally puts us on notice for trying to juggle multiple relationships.
Thus far we had a lot of teasing that things will go bad but not a whole lot of bad actually happening, Alexis-Layla some others... but often we can "survive" these things.
But this update with things like Erynn's likely being setup for a school internship, Nikki/Cara moving into town, Val vs Alexis... it feels like we are about to arrive at our destination
In regards to Ethan/blackmail, Nyx seems to finally be doing the right thing and not letting it go cold, just a short scene here and there to keep interest... with hints of more to come(i still would rather have it over with to "speed up" the Erynn route, but at least now it's constantly moving instead stopping for several episodes at a time).
If you go too many episodes without any progress in a storyline it becomes much harder to keep interest(just look at freaking Lucas he went away so long ago, no one cares anymore).

One of my cousins had that happen lol, he met his wife to be, started dating, eventually got serious enough to introduce their single parents. Somewhere along the line my uncle and her mother started dating. Like 6 months after my cousin got married, my uncle and her mother got married as well. They went to great pains to downplay the weird scenario so there wasn't much teasing, but we all joked about it when they weren't around lol

Sure, but then the issue becomes how to dodge or nullify all the tiresome jealousy/breakup drama when they notice. And they will, with everyone being the friend/(step)sibling of someone else.

There isn't going to be any kind of harem or sharing relationship.
Most you can probably expect, which I know some have dropped hints to Nyx for, is Layla and Elena throuple.
I see no good reason why Alexis and Erynn could not eventually go down the same path due to their exceedingly similar circumstances to the Layla-Elena duo. Ofc, if the story gives them a chance to work through their issues and behave like the loving and caring close friends they are supposed to be, and not jealous and spoiled children fighting over toys.
