That's where it's unusual, and often feels like two steps forward, then two steps back.

She has no issues kissing him in public, or in either of their rooms, bathrooms, or his kitchen. She just doesn't like anytime you can choose "continue". They get noticed in a small make out session by Emily and she immediately calls Melissa (I'm 99% sure as Nyx doesn't say). Yeah it's not in public as well as Erynn-Emily have a very different dynamic than Erynn-Melissa(Mom).

She keeps saying she "needs more time", but it is really because of the Ethan blackmail? Is she scared something might happen that turns another intimate moment into a trauma? Entirely plausible. I'm leaning towards it not being the sole or only reason. The reason I'm leaning towards is the one she actually says. When she comments on MC's room being so empty, she says she's scared he'll leave again. I think this is why she's being more guarded. Why open oneself up to being hurt a second time by the same person. It's become pretty clear that Erynn was near distraught/devestated when the MC started ignoring her, left town, and never talked to her again. Maybe she's worried the same thing might happen again?

I agree, it's getting to a weird territory... she no longer feels any shyness about showing her body and being together naked... and it's not even the dude pushing for more and Erynn hitting the brakes. She's the one that invites him into the bathroom and into the bathtub... both times she's the one that innitiated bathroom activities.

But if things go to more than that... somehow that's a problem.
And she's afraid to say the word boyfriend...

Those are things my male brain can't grasp, someone who is willing to drive 80% of the road... but not 100%
But Nyx is a woman and sometimes women have weird hang ups i don't get...

She clearly developed some abandoment issues that makes her afraid to going too far, she's afraid the MC is gonna leave and she's gonna be alone again...
I think this is why for the longest time she stuck by "we are friends", she was afraid that changing the relationship might lead to some unforeseen problems and create distance between them.

But there's 2 problems with that:
It's too late for "we are just friends" now, it's time to move, everyone can see that...
She's stuck in this place for too damn long, this sucks and it's not good romance either... we wanna see people who face their fears for love, not someone who cowers.


I do wonder if Nyx is waiting for some big event to finally make her go after what she wants? To commit to a relationship?

Ethan going down? Finding her family? Coming to terms with the Zane break up? Something still related to the MC leaving?

Now, onto the story proper. I believe nothing nefarious happened. I think Val's phone just died, and Ethan did nothing to her due to who her mom is, so he told Zach she'd be a problem.

I could see this happening and i hope it does and that Ethan didn't do something to her. This would be a much better outcome but it still doesn't rule out Ethan helping Zach in the future with Val in some way, or at least trying to and possibly interfering in MC's and Val's relationship in some way out of spite if MC is on Val's romance path

I think he's redeemable simply for the fact that he ism't knowingly hurting anyone, he's just blinded by self pity and lust. As far as knowing about ethans treatment of women, it's hard to say what he knows as we've only seen them interact twice, we don't know how ethan acts around him. In relation to john, all he knows is that ethan was curious about they guy, the assumption is that he's completely oblivious as to why.

Well, this is more like a "degree of treason" discussion then. To explain, there is a historian, I've long forgotten the name, that argued that treason/collaboration is not clear cut, there's 7 degrees or stages of it; from mere cooperation with the enemy for the sake of lowering civilian losses to outright enthusiastic support and collaboration. They enjoy music, they enjoy joking and spending time with each other, they have fun together doing different things and they have a great sexual connection. And no lexi is not my fav but this eps put her to number 2 - erynn, lexi, val in that order

I guess the original poster debranched the concept of relationship down to barebones of mere "being in relationship" without everything that actually entails: love, romance, dating, spiritual connection, commitment, companionship, spending time together, having things in common, friendship, loyalty, fidelity, trust, unconditional SUPPORT, forsake-all-others, identifying a fitting mate to have children with, raising a family, sharing compatible values and world-views, helping each other grow, literally helping each other through sicknesses and injuries and so on.

Many people underestimate the elements of connection that you pointed out. Yes, they're incredibly compatible sexually, but like you said they also have the joking, spending time, good-natured teasing (stepbrother) and pranking, music (hell, Lexi TOOK UP GUITAR because of MC!!!), MC's love for Lexi's singing (she does way too little of it)...

In so many ways they are each other's equals and complements, like pieces of the same puzzle to be corny.

I'm biased, Lexi is my fav, Erryn nowhere close because of how she allowed Ethan to take over and allowed herself to be isolated without really fighting him.

A long time ago i actually tested myself, in the various paths I did I had MC broke up with the girl to see which one's reaction was the most believable/realistic, which one exhibited the most pain over the relationship ending and which breakup affected me as well.

As I've already said, Lexi nearly broke me and it took me a week before I could actually proceed with the new path. Second to that was surprisingly Nikki. I honestly expected Erryn to be the one hurt the most, but that didn't happen.

Surprisingly because Nikki's such a strong independent girl and also because I for some reason didn't expect the two strongest LIs to be the most sensitive and so easily hurt. With Layla the issue was cause I left her for Lexi, so there was betrayal there, plus that "we" continued to see each other at their home after that (so rubbing her face in it). The others, Cara, Erryn, Elena, etc. were much easier (still pissed Brooke was retroactively made into a lesbian).

What makes you think that Val and MC are siblings though? Its pretty clear that Val's mom is Ximena. It is unlikely that Santi banged Ximena in the past and put a baby into her around the same time he did it to Emily since Val and MC are of the same age. Unless Santi in the past really does go around banging and impregnating every chick in the city and then dumping them and moving to the next lol which i guess is possible but unlikely i think. If anything, if you banged Gabi that would make it so you basically banged your stepmom since it would seem that Gabi is Santi's wife (soon to be ex-wife probably) but i don't think Nyx will go for that. After all, she likes to tease us with potential incestuous relationships but we all know nothing will ever come of it, since she confirmed early on no incest, its just teasing for the sake of plot and potential drama. I think the plot in this story is getting messy or the author have lack of ideas how to proceed. For Eryn, how Ethan recorded that video, is Zane is involved in that (helped Ethan blackmail Eryn), why Eryn never questioned her self about the whole situation (it would be normal to be suspicious how that happened)... Little stupid is that one guy fucked hall town, have bunch of children and nobody know about it? Highly unlikely... Well, we still have to wait for some clarifications... but it's messy situation without resolve (at least normal one).

I think it's only messy if you go in to thinking of what you would do or would be smart to do. But if you have the mindset and realizing the characters not suppose to be smart or take it serious then I agree with it then it becomes less messy. Tho I also do think AVN's in general work best when you dont take them serious and just have a chill and relaxed mindset.

Only thing that is starting to be a bit messy for me now is with how Erynn is acting towards the MC in the last 2 updates. as it seems like the blackmail served it's purpose for me and Erynn is mostly past her trauma now when she is with the MC. So now I think it's time to end that storyline. and move on to something else like maybe a Lucas storyline with Layla for example and of course whatever the results is of the Val thing
