Val's parents are a big mystery.
Val's mom is the same age as Emily, as both got pregnant right out of high school. Let's say she's 37. Ximena has been heavily hinted as a possibility (even by the script), but her age is the problem:
- Gabi and Ximena are friends that have known each other for over 10 years.
- Layla guesses Gabi's age as something around 30
- MC guesses Ximena's age as late 20s, early 30s
- when Gabi was around MC's age Santiago was already a working adult
The only way Ximena is Val's mom is if she looks really young for her age, and she wasn't Gabi's college friend.
Her dad is unknown as well. He surfs: Valeria mentions he has a few surfboards at home. He has his own place in MS and he and Val's mom were never married but are still in an amicable relationship. I can't think of anyone who has a surfboard at home.
I mean, purely theoretically Santiago x Ximena is a possibility: they banged 19 years ago and didn't marry but remained friends. Several years later Santiago married Gabi and introduced her to his daughter and her mother. They, surprisingly, became good friends despite an age gap. But I now think it's a bit of a stretch.

The only link we have with surfing currently is knowing Zane is a surfer, I guess that could mean Val is Zane and Brooke's half-sister (if Zane learned how to surf through his Dad) but I'm not sure that would be much of an interesting link.

I think the bit of information that we get about Val's dad who "likes to surf" and has a few surfboards at home, will be the link between her and Zane (Mr Donovan)
No way that Nyx gave us that little bit of information for no reason. We see Zane at the beach with a surfboard a few times now and I believe that Zane and Val's dad could be buddies, likely through surfing. This for me explains the "off-limits" comment that Zane says to his friend when he's drooling over Val at the beach.
It could be that he says that she's "off-limits" as her intern teacher at the moment and I get why that would apply to him, but why his friend? I can certainly understand why a buddies daughter would be off-limits.
I think that it's possible that given what happened to her with Noah, her dad asked him to train with her and look out for her.

Ximena is best a stepmom which I doubt anyway, she would have to be at least 35ish to be an actual mom, she looks the same as Gabi pretty much age-wise, and she is around 30 years old. She was too young to be an actual mom in the TV show as well. Plus Val's mom knows what MC looks like (photo plus car scene), if she was Ximena she would've instantly recognized him at the restaurant.
I had hoped that MC saying that Erynn was his girlfriend at the Beach Date volleyball scene would have clearly started that ball rolling. Feels like a missed opportunity where the MC says "She's mine", not "She's my girlfriend" as the option implied with a choice of "Friends" or "Girlfriend". Seemed like a great spot like the Lexi girlfriend dare scene....
At the photoshoot with Erynn, she seemed surprised Zane was supposed to be the male model and sort of shrugged it off. I didn't catch any remorse or interest vibes from Erynn that she might still be into, or confused about, Zane. But that could be at play. It's entirely possible that Ethan blackmail, MC abandoning her, and the Zane "trauma" (for lack of better word) have all piled up to make her gun shy.
Don't forget Cara is also coming to MS with Nikki. If I recall it's just a trip when Nikki visits MSU. So things could get spicy there too. Issues with either of them could cause both to no longer like the MC. "Cheating on my sister?" type of conversation.
Nate, he probably won't cause any issues other than get some popcorn if things go sideways.
Lakeyn has also moved back to start her own shop. There are some interesting/humerous MC thoughts if you slept with her after being tattooed, and end up dating Alexis or Layla.
Have to see if Mira, I think the only one left, decides to also move. Especially if you said you liked her instead of just friends.
On a side note with Lakeyn, I do hope that no more tattoos are forced though. I'm not a fan of the side torso design at all. Did I miss where they explain who the ladies face is in it? It's so prominent, and they spend so much time at the beginning talking about the tattoo that you'd have thought they'd explain the face. Just a random person? The arm I can understand, as it gives me the 'Day of the Dead' holiday feel which jives with his Latin/Spanish roots.

don't want to ruin your fun, but both tattoos are pretty much your basic DAZ assets that have no particular meaning. I've seen both of them in other games.

To me it felt like "this is the moment" upon making that choice, but it doesn't do anything.
And looking at the game's internal tracking there's nothing there either, no flag saying you picked the GF option and not even a points gain connected to that choice.
It ended up being a fluff/cosmetic choice which is not how it felt when i saw that option, it definitely undervalues the moment.
Sex with Zane is what marks the beggining of her current situation...
Having sex led to her to losing him and ending up on Ethan's hand...
Maybe Erynn needs some reinforcing that she did nothing wrong and it wasn't her fault, and there's no reason to be afraid of commitment or sex...
It sounds obvious, but maybe on some level Erynn ties these things together, kinda "if i do this... it will happen again" type deal.
She runs into Zane at the beach and seems completely fine(despite the fact she looked shocked upon seeing him) afterwards, if anything she feels even more confident and "forward" when we meet her later(bathtub scene).
I highly doubt that meeting led to some heart to heart between them, the "you did nothing wrong" i was talking about, it was probably just a "hey how have you been..." type deal.
Erynn doesn't bring up meeting with him in the next scene (in big part because Nyx is still trying to keep him a mistery, despite his identity being obvious), but i hope she does in the future/soon.
Running into/having a small chit-chat with your old BF sounds like something you should mention to your new BF(even if it's not official).
I think next week they are just visiting, not staying for good, they have plans to move into town but we don't know how long that will take.
If Cara ends up enlisting at our school, which i don't see why not once she's moved in, she can play the role of keeping an eye on the MC even if we are on a Nikki route, which would make relationships with Layla, Elena, Valeria "unsafe".
Lakeyin seems supportive of her cousins and won't present problems, it still could lead to a humorous scene with either one.
Maybe a quick fuck for old times sake on a save where you never had anything with either sister...
This is news to me... but i hope so.
I also hope they come into town even with no relationship, perhaps with an option to "reignite the flame", if we are on good terms that is lol.
There's a variation on the airport meeting, if can be happy and friendly or angry(happens you took the "Julia" option).

It's about the illusion of control. She feels she has no control when the MC initiates, but feels in control when she's the one who initiates.
Granted that logically speaking this is quite silly, feelings wise it makes sense though. "I'm the one doing it, therefore I can stop this at any time I want.". In reality there's nothing preventing your partner from taking over at any point and steering the interaction.

So I just replayed the Erynn content from this update my god I forgot how cute she is during the beach date especially with the whole checking out how tall she is compared to the MC.
But anyways after replaying it. Don't know if it's just me but I really hated how the MC "distracted" Erynn during their volleyball match. I mean I don't like how he was using the "love" worth to mess with her to begin with as we know it's a big deal for Erynn. But I felt like if he was going to fuck her just say "I love you" instead of almost saying then saying something else. Might just me but I felt like if he said it would of created a good opportunity to talk about it or move their relationship more forward afterwards or in another update update could bring it up in a relationship talk right before they make things official.
As well with the MC should of said she is his girlfriend instead of saying she is just mine. Because like what LSC82 said it does feel like a choice that wouldn't matter and there just for variety. Also if I recall correctly in one of the early chapters when the MC goes shopping if you don't correct the store clerk he actually says he is her girlfriend. ( correct me if im wrong dont have a save to check myself right now)
Also is Erynn not living at her apartment anymore now School is back in session? I recall the plan was to originally just stay with Mel during break but she goes back to her apartment just for her books and says she will be back in the evening.

I think this above is why I feel like it's one step forwards and two steps back with Erynn sometimes unfortunately. They are both still running scared from their true feelings for each other.
Saying stuff like this feels like being friend zoned and noone wants that!
Like I said before, I see no reason why we can't deal with the Ethan situation while having Erynn as the MC's girlfriend.
I hope that we don't get a situation where Erynn is going to want to put the brakes on things while she is doing the internship at the MC's school. As she will be the MC's teacher for a while, if my assumption is correct about her "surprise"

The Erynn/MC situation is playing as they are both waiting for each other to say something. MC is waiting for Erynn to say something because he doesn't want to pressure Erynn into something she's not ready for. Erynn is waiting for MC to say something because she doesn't want to risk her friendship with the guy who is most likely to get her out of the Ethan situation.
I think it's going to take an intervention from Lexi or Mel to get them to admit to each other what they want.

Almost perfectly correct. When MC and Erynn approach the teller, he says something along the line of "such a nice looking couple..." and Erynn says "Umm.." and you can follow it up with "Correct him" or 'go along with it' (I forget the exact choice option). Erynn visibly notices, but I didn't check if a variable is flagged on it.
The "I love... being back in MS" was just cold and heartless.
Our guy uses "love" to distract Erynn, but when they are talking for real he's too much of a pussy and goes for a shy "i like you".
The "girlfriend/friend", i already said my thoughts, it looked like THE MOMENT IS FINALLY HERE ladies, gentleman and degenerates... but ended up being an empty fluff choice.
I think there's a moment like that with a cashier, she says MC-Erynn make a good looking couple and we have the option to correct her or just say "thank you", it also doesn't lead to much, that one perhaps too early and "just didn't correct her", but this latest one feels like a much bigger missed opportunity.
Erynn herself is also afraid of the word "boyfriend", stops herself right in the middle of it(as seen in one of the renders), but she's the one that has clear trust and confidence issues, i think the MC should be the one giving her reassurance and helping her get over her issues... but the game doesn't allow me to do it.
It can be immensely frustrating, a non-ending waiting game, she's not gonna say it because she's scared that changing the relationship will cause her lose him down the line, and he doesn't say it because he's afraid of pressuring her and perhaps the backyard "rejection" still haunts him a bit.You could add these ones to the cute or scary folder Des.

Problem solved.
He's a chronic cheater that seems to enjoy using any tactic at his disposal. Seems to be a recurring trend on not just Erynn's beach date but also Val's beach date. Erynn even gets annoyed at one point at the beach asking if he's ever going to let her win. So she even starts to see it. And then it also shows up again on Val's training date where he chases her to the park bench, and MC jumps it, pretends he's hurt then grabs her.
Not anything I'd ever do in my own life and really rubs me the wrong way. But I guess my "manliness" doesn't hinge on winning at all costs when playing around with someone I'm pursuing. The journey is more fun than who wins.
