that's why I mostly stick to solo saves and only a few mixed saved not gonna go to crazy with all the saves I have planned until later. Not really that bad to redo those since I can just ctrl skip through 1 or 2 saves every few days and do it slowly , not like I need to do it right away.
I don't know what's worse to know that the update will be released this weekend and wait or to complain that you don't know when the update will be

You can create variables, which can possibly make such saves playable, but you have to have a save loaded for it to work (I believe). So one issue with that is that broken saves often won't load at all to give you the opportunity. Ultimately, we'll have to wait to find out, but it would be nice if it's something that can be "fixed" with URM.

You would also need to know exactly what code changed and which variables were broke also but as you say, the biggest issue would be getting the save to load in the first place.
Lot of hassle, easier to just skip through again....if one can be bothered doing that...yet....again....
