Momma’s Realm (work in progress)

Hello there! (Not exactly new, I have always been lurking here). As you can guess from the title, I’ve been working on an incest game. Not my first time coding/drawing so I know what are the PROs and CONs. I have abandoned a lot of projects because I was never pleased with them, but I think I just got the formula. I’m going to share you my ideas:

1 Motivations:
I like drawing, I can write (sadly, english is not my first language, but I don’t care too much), I have some weird fetishes and I like adult games. Why not share it to the world?

2 Characters:
I Kept it simple, only mother and son. I don’t want to create a lot of characters and messy storylines. There’s plenty of situations with only 2 people.

3 Art:
It’s not the best, but I’m pretty sure it’s not ugly. I know my limitations with positions and angles, so I grab some photos from google and trace them. So far I’ve liked the result, but this is an important part so your opinion will be well-received.

4 Story:
You’re a boy who lives with her mother (duh!). You’re in love with her, but you know this isn’t mutual. One day, you have a discussion with your mom about your feelings for her. Things don’t end well between you and your mother. You (somehow, I won’t explain it today) contact a man who can help you to get inside your mother’s mind (like the movie Inception or Persona5) and you begin your journey in order to corrupt her (but not being totally evil, just lustful, remember you love her). Every action you make inside her mind will result in a change in the real world… and that’s it.

5 Corruption System:
I plan to use a mix of personality traits, suggestion and the seven deadly sins. I’m not sure about this, but I will be inspired by them.

6 Gameplay:
a) I will use RPG Maker MV (I’ve proudly bought it years ago). You ‘ll freely move around your house and you’ll explore dungeons inside your mother’s mind. So, you’ll have to battle some enemies and resolve puzzles in order to corrupt her.

b) Every time you defeat a boss you’ll gain control of a single part of her personality or maybe sow an idea. Please note that you “gain control”, so is up to you to decide if you want to change it or not. With this mechanic you´ll have to think about which combinations (of personality traits, sins or whatever I make up) will get you into her pants.

c) Your mom will make certain actions depending which time of the day / day of the week is in an infinite loop. So, if you make the right combinations and dialogue choices, you’ll get the respective CG. The game will have this infinite loop but the story will progress based on her corruption level.

d) This game will not have game overs as a result of a bad choices between the dialogues or actions you take with your mom. Remember you have control of her mind, so everything you screwed up can be fixed in the mental world. A bad choice will result (if you’re lucky enough) in a CG and a discussion with your mother, so you’ll face the consequences of your dirty mind (she won’t speak to you or something like that). You’ll have two choices: beg for her pardon (if you did some minor action) or try to corrupt her mind in order to erase that memory (if you totally screwed up your life). This will be done in an special dungeon you can enter anytime. Oh, by the way, if you die in battle then it’s game over.

e) You’ll embrace monsters according to the area you’re trying to corrupt, I hope this keeps you entertained. You’ll be forced to talk to them sometimes in order to get some items or maybe gaining their powers. You’ll have some companions, spectral beings who represent the bond you have with your mother.

I’ll leave you some images from the DEMO I’m planning to make. I’ll keep the art/sprites/tilesets/backgrounds as simple as possible in the DEMO but If I get enough support (moral support, I don’t plan to create a patreon page because this is only for entertainment) I’ll make some changes. By the way, I made the handjob and bat scene just as an example, not sure if I'll keep them.

If you like this idea any tips and tricks will be highly appreciated.

The concept is great but I think the art leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe consider using real porn or images from hentai games or something? Good luck with it at any rate.

Nice! Two people that like the concept! Sadly, I don't like the idea of using real porn, I prefer cartoons. Well, in terms of art, I can do better but I'm kinda lazy haha. Is it because you prefer DAZ3D or just a better performance in 2D art? I've been working in a more clean (but simple) artstyle, take a look.

Yeah I agree. Don't do real porn, those games are never popular. I would eventually set up a patreon after you release a version though. Even if this is more of a passion hobby of yours, even getting $20 bucks a month that you can spend on pizza or whatever while working on it can be pretty neat. :D

Welp art-style looks good enough, so I don't have way too much to say about that. As you said before, your weakness are angles and perspectives; and I also agree with that (it should get better with time tho).

About the mapping, it also looks good considering that you used RTP graphics. However, I'd suggest you to be careful on making oversized maps, since they just look like a big empty box. Always try to distribute furniture as good as you can.

Alsooo, I'm assuming that your first language is spanish, since sometimes you used a tilde (’) instead of an apostrophe ('), and while it may be something really simple, it looks kinda weird once you've noticed it; so I'd suggest you to be careful heh.

I'm fine if the art is fappable enough.

True, thank you for the advice. I should take a look on how other developers distribute the objects in the environment. About oversized maps (which are definitely going to be the dungeons), I was thinking about how FF4 did it with such limited resources.

UPDATE (for anyone following this thread)

I've been organizing how the variables and switches are going to operate in the events and I'm proud to say that I figured out how to get them to work. So, the coding (in theory) is done, no more pilots. Everything is going great!

I'm really excited to share my experience making this game, so here you go (don't worry I won't spoil the story/situations):

1. I created the day and week cycle:
- It's an infinite loop that goes from Monday to Sunday, subdivided by morning, afternoon and night.
- You will have special events on Saturday and Sunday (dates and stuff).

2. I decided to use a corruption system based on the seven deadly sins (and their counterparts).
- Inside your mother's realm (which is going to be like a laboratory) you will encounter rooms with switches that you'll freely use and combine in order to corrupt your mom.
- For example: if you activate a LV. (3) LUST switch and a LV. (5) SLOTH switch... you'll unlock an "idea" that can be sown into your mother's brain and used at your disposal on certain days/times of the day (you'll have to discover that).
- LUST is going to be the only switch that can be combined with the others (you won't be able to combine PRIDE with GLUTTONY or something like that). I sadly decided this because it was going to be impossible to create such number of combinations hahaha.
- You will only be able to sow only one idea at a time, but you'll have a lot of situations based on that idea. Once you're tired of using it, you can deactivate it and use another one.

3. Personality traits:
- I don't know if they are "traits", but you will be able to unlock different personalities, fantasies and wishes on your mom. She'll want to act and dress differently depending on which personality you unlocked.
- For example: A rocker mom who likes to go to bars and concerts, a sensitive person who loves to go museums or an intellectual who likes to talk about philosophy and politics. As you can see, it's just a silly excuse to fulfill certain fantasies.
- This personalities will be unlocked if you use certain combinations of switches.

4. Companions and battles:
- Companions will have exclusive roles (warrior, black magic, healer).
- This game will be focused on classic Turn-Based Battles, dungeons with easy/medium puzzles (included in the battles).
- Maps aren't going to be huge. A maximum of 2/3 fiends per area and a boss.

5. About the art:
- I've been thinking about including animations. I've seen some games that animate their sexual scenes with few resources (for example: Town of Passion). Does anyone know what program do they use? I've got no clue. I suspect they use a tool similar to "puppet warp" in Photoshop.
- I've been doing my research on how to save time without feeling guilt of my performance. I discovered that cheap hentai movies do a lot of this and they have decent shading. I'm tracing poses/angles/faces/clothes/scenes and adapting them to my characters. It takes some time, but the results are far more satisfying. I'd definitely bang that mom.

I think the concept is great and I like your latest art design. Some suggestions: I would try to make it not too grind-heavy, and at the same time we shouldn't be getting sex scenes too easily as well. Maybe make the maps easily navigable - that's usually something that annoys me a bit with RPG games.

Some suggestions: I would try to make it not too grind-heavy, and at the same time we shouldn't be getting sex scenes too easily as well. Maybe make the maps easily navigable - that's usually something that annoys me a bit with RPG games.

About the heavy grinding:
Don't worry, the game will be more focused on strategy than power. I don't like grinding too much too, but if you want to bang your mom you'll definitely have to prove that you're up to.

About the early sex scenes:
I can't say too much about this but... it won't be fair to have a reverse cowgirl position with Lv. 1 switches, right? ;)

UPDATE #3

I've been doing my research on plugins, pictures, tilesets and battles. So far, I've managed to...

1. Create animations:
- I've found the right software to do it and, thankfully, the animation plugin works on my version of RMMV.
- As I've said before, these animations will be heavily-heavily inspired on old anime movies.
- I won't create much of these because this is going to be only a demo.

2. Work on an skill / level up / battle system:
- It will be focused on MoogleX's plugin (Skill Learning - AP), very similar to FF9. You won't have the skill until you master it, you'll have to battle a bit (I'll test it in order to ensure it'll not be boring) if you want to use them.
- Levels will only matter in terms of HP/MP.
- Every skill will have a particular use in dungeons (mainly for puzzles or memorable moments) and battles.
- The use of some skills on battles will let you talk or corrupt enemies in order to get vital information.
- I can assure you that most enemies will easily fall, but not necessarily by brute force.

3. Work on Hero Followers / Dungeons / Places:
- Each follower will have a crucial role in battles and dungeons.
- You'll be able to talk to them anywhere you want and the dialogue'll change depending on the place and context. It's a silly feature, but I kinda like it.
- I've managed to get good-free-commercialuse tilesets.
- I've added a plugin that let's you see a little text above an event. Don't worry, it won't flood your screen with text.

Are you planing on making the Mc look and be 18ish or is it a kiddy game like Insexual Awakening?
I had to look for the game in order to answer you properly. I enjoy straight-shota but I wouldn't feel comfortable drawing the scenes with such a young boy. It's gonna be a 18's - 21's boy. Take a look.

Thank you for your kind words. I have no plans to abandon it but.... I'll start working in a few weeks, so I'd have to reorganize my schedule in order to maintain some continuity until I release the DEMO. Any tips n' tricks?

stay consistent and set a time to work on it every weekday/weekend, or whatever works for you. but make a schedule and stay consistent even a small bit of time works

Also, don't forget to take breaks, pushing yourself too hard won't help anyone. And stay active with whoever follows your project, that way we can all wait for it in a good way. And if you need help with anything don't be too afraid to ask for it, we are pretty excited for this and we'll root for you.

Hello people!

- Tilesets: I'm currently arranging my tilesets, I don't want boring environments.
- Monsters: I'm having a hard time designing them, I'll take some inspiration from deviantart. Any help or advice would be appreciated (seriously).

2. Script
- Introduction finished.
- Working on some situations.
- I've successfully defined the personality of the MC and the two companions (the mother too, but she's complex).

3. Coding
- I have successfully made all my variables/events in papers. I know how to put them, but I haven't created them yet.


I'll continue with this idea until I release the demo, but here are some thoughts:

I'm starting to notice how complex and difficult is the switches + days mechanic. So... I was thinking... what if I delete it and make the game more linear?

Situation -> Dungeon -> H-Event -> Harder Dungeon -> H-Event -> ETC

I'd conserve the special personalities and kinks as extra dungeons.

Also... what if the MC is a milf hunter? I mean... there's my mom but there's also my best friend's mom, my aunt, another friend's mom, etc. Everyone with a special dungeons (yes, like persona5).

With that new and simple mechanic I could create better dialogues/situations and let you explore your powers with other people.

I know! It's a completely different game, but it's my first game after all. Let me know what you think!

i think that's a great idea, making it more linear will help you with time and it will also open more characters, I liked the mechanic of one shaping her as one wanted, but I think it's okay like this, I mean, you could try to do something in the final of the dungeon were we chose making her a complete slut, or just a lover or reseting her normal self, I think that would be an easier way to make it a bit more open and also making it linear.
