It seems this game has save protections built in. Perhaps this isn't a problem for the MovKF crowd happy enough to have the gallery, but personally I like it better when I can lose mid-battle—the gallery has no description dialogue (and notably no free-battle option exists in the game). So reformats, a maximum number of slots, or just plain not having the time to game ought to warrant some effort into breaking it down.
I've been lurking this thread for a while hoping someone addresses, as far as ver. 1.0+, that people who use the few saves uploaded here will run into check:load being clickable, but to no response from the game. And although the text description might be different, the saves one actually does—before replacing the saves in LocalLow, still work as before.
Investigating a bit, the game seems to rely on three files: config, MovKF, MovDatN and config. The way I checked is comparing the downloaded savefiles to a fresh start. Opening them on notepad gives less text for the fresher set of files.
So the game notices the saves exist, and the three files also exist, but it throws an error into the files Player.txt and Player-prev.txt—it seems in the files one's local directory is used—which can also be seen in LocalLow/Unity, that makes a config and values file that stores your [Drive]:/[username]/.../[Iris RE Action] directory. It may be noticeable that Player.txt and Player-prev.txt used to be created judging by the save download, but I haven't had it happen to me as of current where I notice it seems to use the uploaders "C:/Dean/...".
If the three (or some combination, I deleted them all) files are gone, any dat files—the save slots, get deleted. MovKF doesn't seem to affect these.
I'm inclined to guess this may have something to do with different usernames, or the transition from renaming to RE Action to Chronicle.
Currently still stuck on how to solve the issue, but that's what I've got so far.
