The mere idea of content locking even for people who *are* paying money for this kind of thing on Patreon in theory should get some wheels turning in the heads of the people subbing to this content. This game has been in development for YEARS, and the slow trickle of content and sometimes backpedaling of content makes the goal of this dev extremely clear. They don't want to finish the game because that would mean starting another project, especially while they are making boat loads of cash monthly just to release tiny content updates and consistently change the code to prevent cracks. And this happens month after month. The introduction of the castle and its characters is a prime example of this, the garbage fighting game minigame, and rock paper scissors, hell it took nearly two and a half years between the castle and character sprites being made before any of them even got an interaction. And almost every new update introduces two more characters, still leaving previous characters unfinished.
The endpoint here is easily predicted. Eventually the declining monetary gain per month will reach a point that the dev does not like, and only then will the game finally release, with whatever remaining content being completely rushed, before the dev will begin the next game, chasing the monthly income peak they had with this one.
