In addition to steam getting targeted by payment processors and collective shout, itch.io just delisted 99% of their NSFW content due to threats from their payment processors (probably due to nudging from collective shout).

Much of this content hasn't been permanently removed yet, but they plan to slowly review games and profiles to see if certain games need to be permanently removed or whole profiles hosting NSFW content.

Payment Processors shouldn't have this kind of power....

There's a guy on Bluesky who's made a template to follow to send to the CC companies. Do your part, soldier!

Can people download the stuff they've already bought? Would be sadly ironic if the DRM platform Steam was safer for that than something like Itch...

So where have all the game devs gone now? Are they just sticking to patreon or is there another site taking them on, because as much as I love f95 its a terrible site to discover new games. Like displaying the games on itch, you could actually get a feel of what they were from a picture but with F95 its just a line of text, if you want to see pictures from the game you have to actually click on the name.

The people that get booted from Itch and Steam will have Subscribestar and DLsite (though DL is a bit more complicated because of censorship, Japanese translation and limited market.) Not sure how Oppaiman will do as they are kind of linked to Patreon. Another platform got mentioned by a dev today, but I'm not well informed on that so I won't comment on it.

It's not looking good...

Found out that there is a bill that might solve this issue. "Fair Access to Banking Act"

I guess read it:
and if it doesn't look like it has a lot of baggage, talk to your reps and try to get it passed. It should stop the payment processors from doing this crud again.

So they can remove a game for which you already paid, isn't it a theft?
Unfortunately, not anymore. You are buying a license to play the game. The only games that are truly owned by you are ones that are copyright free, such as the ones purchasted on GOG.

links are better and clickable here. but my thread is also in the front page on general discussions actions we can do. I recommend everyone go file a complaint to the DOJ under anti-trust.

for deindexed games, yes. you just need the link to the game page. but for the games that are banned/suspended, they can't be downloaded currently
i'm gonna correct myself here. you can download the games you bought even if the game was banned by itch -- but not if the dev removes the page/links (and many devs have done that with their banned itch games)

The easiest thing nowadays is to promote this as an action of a WOKE AGENDA of a WOKE ORGANIZATION, so that several WOKE work with these Payment Processors to solidify their WOKE AGENDA and that these Payment Processors are now in fact an WOKE AGENCY too, trying to WOKE the internet with their own rules, going directly against the constitution by limiting the freedom of speech to soldify their WOKE AGENDA.

So simply just add enough "woke" to the text for someone to take action, that's how it works nowadays.
