Just text. It's because the dev wanted to include all possible gender and body options for the MC so they can't really show the character without rendering all of the combinations.

It's all text because trying to render the player character in any scene robs the user of whatever persona they have in mind (the character creation portion doesn't ask if you're human or some species of furry, just gender and what sexual bits you have for the flavor text). It also cuts down on the amount of renders that would have to be made to include every type of species the user might be.
