It's almost done. I've got some renders to cook tonight, then I'll finish putting together which might take another day or two. Then I'll waste a bunch of time chewing my nails and pulling out my hair while I make tiny insignificant adjustments to the writing, waste more time undoing those adjustments, realize I forgot something incredibly important, lose some sleep, say fuck it and ship the update.
It still has to go through beta but that shouldn't take long since I've already released about 75% of the final update to my supporters, so expect a post from me sometime this week to start the two week countdown for a public release.

Hopefully the story/plot starts to become a little more clear over the next few updates, but there are going to be a lot of confusing/head-scratching moments at first so maybe I should manage expectations better.This is one of the few games where I have no idea where the story is going, if there will be consequences, branching, the classic villain, etc.
The MC gives me peace of mind, he seems pretty normal compared to the rest of the people around him.
I've probably talked about this before but there won't be a lot of branching, most of the choices will just lead to variations of very similar events. There will be a few very big choices toward the end that will lead to some significantly different outcomes.
As far as who the villain is... I'll let you guys decide that one.
I urge you to put that in the update.

The woman who threatens the MC and hires him turns out to be not so bad, so the villain will be the AI that controls the virtual world, especially if they don't let you leave. Or it could be the Chinese businesswoman.

The villain is Izzi.
Had she not messed with Q, and brainwashed the MC, none of the current bad would be happening.
I know it's a plot device, and without her being evil the story couldn't proceed as it is, but that doesn't make her any less wrong.
Just waiting for her to get messed with by Q as well, and then helping the MC "fix" what she broke.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how everyone reacts when they see what I've got planned for Izzi, especially when they get to the Choice.
What reaction you expecting ? Most probably the reaction here is "Just Bang It" Nike.

Jesus, this last dev cycle was a total shitshow. Luckily it is (almost) behind us now. 0.4 is in beta (props to my brave beta testers), once that's done I'll release it to all my paid subscribers and start the countdown to the public release. I'll get a real number once the beta is finished but there's about 900 new renders so it's a little bigger than the past few releases (at least as far as renders go). I'm also day drinking right now in premature celebration (the cruel irony is that I finally have a completely free weekend now) so let me know if you want me to completely spoil the ending or anything.
