I'm willing to wait until the video comes out before I have an opinion. On the surface, it seems like having top-notch music in a porn video is overkill, but look at it this way.

At least for me, the backstory, and the buildup of a scene before the fucking begins makes a huge difference. The music can also make or break a scene. There are countless times a good backstory, buildup, and music has enhanced a scene.

Or on the flip side, a bad backstory, buildup, and music ruined it.

Heaven forbid someone put some actual fucking effort into more aspects of their work.

He wants to get an Orchestra set up, so he can also streamline the music production in his later works as well, so this also sets up his next works too.

He's also planning on a MoCap set up too, that's an incredibly big step and major move for him in terms of animating. Are we gunna bitch on him for that too?

You're all so fucking entitled its unreal, I shouldn't be surprised but unfortunately I am, It's funny to consider that you're all complaining about "something you don't even focus on" but I can guarantee, you'd notice it if it wasn't there.

There's plenty, PLENTY of minute little details that can make or break a render, fuck, even importing an mp3 file can fuck up the render.

Imagine someone who comes to your job and despite knowing almost nothing about your work, begins to tell YOU how to do YOUR job, telling you "You don't need this" when you know you very well do need it to make it work.

YOU don't want the music, Jackerman does. His work requires the music, background or otherwise, regardless as whether or not you think it needs it.

You think Lord of the Rings doesn't need a huge Orchestral score? or is it because Jackerman is making "just a porno" that doesn't justify it? In which case, you're fighting from both corners, pick a side.

Just so I can act with one braincell for a moment, like the rest of you: Why the fuck does every music band have a Bassist? We don't even fucking hear the instrument, just fire the Bassist.

Wait what? Please tell me that Jackerman (and other artists with release delays/problems) are NOT using Blender to do the entire film cut... with music?!?! Just because you can is not a good reason to do it. Especially with super easy-to-use and free video software like Davinci Resolve out there. Sheesh... I'm just mind-blown by the pain thinking about it! No wonder there's one delay after another. Masochists.

You're an idiot if you think he does absolutely everything in Blender. Blender is great, and so is Davinci Resolve, but neither program is free of bugs.

EDIT: If you want to give yourself another reason to be mad at him, go right ahead, it's just another fallacy at this point.

I was simply shocked that you casually mentioned "importing an mp3 into Blender". I'm not mad at Jackerman at all. I'm just going through a number of threads where great artists are getting pounded for not producing enough content, and trying to figure out why is all. I don't believe they're all lazy bum scammers, and think there's just a lot of technical bottlenecks to produce the quality they're after.

I've done quite a bit of process management in digital printing/content creation workflows over the years, working with all kinds of creatives and devs. Also worked in the film industry, but so many(!) years ago as to be basically an "idiot" about what goes on these days BTS, especially with 3DX and small indy studios.

In my experience, sometimes its beneficial for someone outside of the industry, to have a process explained to them like a child, and for them to ask just one dumb question that an expert or long-time pro hadn't explained in a long time. Once they try to, they realise there's probably a better way. Even if it's trying to workaround the "bugs" until they can be fixed.

Also, you just never know with devs or artists. They're often on a completely different dimension than most of us. TBH, it wouldn't surprise me (still did though) to hear that they use Blender and plugins for everything as a go to... so.:censored:

This is just my two cents, but as long as it doesn't delay the development of his ongoing/future projects, I don't see the problem with Jack hiring someone to score the music for his videos.
Sure, having original music isn't something most viewers would care much for since we're talking about adult videos after all, but he seems to take production value very seriously (which is one of the reasons why he's one of the best at his job).
Up until now he used songs from different artists for his videos, which could potentially lead to legal problems for him or end up in his videos being taken down for copyright reasons. Having an original score solves all that (although he could've also just used royalty free music instead).
However I do thing it was a mistake for him to announce it as "big news". If he had announced this as a sort of 'side news' in one of his other updates, most people wouldn't have such strong opinions about the subject.

I didn't say that. At all.

There isn't technical bottlenecks, just impatient people with a short fuse who do not, nor try to understand from outside their own perspective.

Yes, for a whole 5 years I had to deal with "Rubber Ducky Debugging" It isn't a pleasant experience, and there isn't a fixed or guaranteed time frame on when a bug will be fixed, fixed one bug can cause 50+ more, people need to realise there isn't a magical "fix all" button.

Also, you just never know with devs or artists. They're often on a completely different dimension than most of us. TBH, it wouldn't surprise me (still did though) to hear that they use Blender and plugins for everything as a go to... so.:censored:
Many Artists have tried to play their community, they've tried to short them and delay their products just to increase their funding, these artists don't last long in the business, I can name a fair few outliers that are still around, but they seem to be an exception not a rule at this point.

But there's a major difference between those who have a genuine delay, and those who just want to delay for the sake of it.

At the end of it, people here are voicing empty frustrations over what is essentially such a minimal issue, especially when they come from people who'll watch it once, bust half way through, shut it down and forget about it for 4 months.

I also don't believe that the soundtrack is something that delays the process of creating MW3, but the real problem is that it could come in handy as an excuse for future delays in the release date of MW3 and that's exactly what worries me, because I I truly believe Jackerman would use this as an excuse to hide future delays related to video production.

I also agree with the "big news" thing, I personally was very anxious when I first heard about this big news, but after seeing what the big news was really about, I was pretty disappointed and I'm sure it wasn't just me.

Production wise it is big news, it gives him far greater control over his art. Some delays are expected though, Hard Drives do fail, sometimes timings fall through and the unexpected happens. It's life, people need to deal with that and not look at every new thing and shouting "He's only doing that because he can use it as an excuse later on!"

People here seem to already be in a negative predisposition and the moment there's an ant hill, they turn it into a mountain and make a big deal of it to try and justify their already negative views.

Granted, his last few animations have fallen short, I liked Wonder Woman but it could've been better, Jenny's Park Threeway obviously could've been better too but it's still good. There's no reason to go out of your way to attack this guy for wanting to improve his content and give himself better creative control over his assets.

There will be teething issues when he introduces these new process, regardless of how well he plans for it, people need to recognise that.

But just as we can't exaggerate the attacks on him, we also shouldn't close our eyes just because he's one of the best today, when you give someone a lot of power he might want to do whatever he wants, the soundtrack is something expendable and thinking that he can use this as an excuse for future delays is something totally valid and about the hard disk is something that really can fail at any time, and therefore this story is even stranger, because he never thought about it? so if MW3 was in the final stage and his hard drive had failed at that point would he just have lost 1 year of work that easily? to suspect this is entirely natural.

But the majority of people here aren't closing their eyes to anything, they're ignoring the positives and going through any negatives.

The soundtrack is something expendable and thinking that he can use this as an excuse for future delays is something totally valid
Yes of course it's valid, but when the first response to it was immediately negative, just goes to show the kind of community this thread has festered. Where are the people thinking about the positive aspects of it? What it means for future works? How it'll help his workflow? Nah fuck that, he's obviously doing all that so he can set himself up for a fake delay when he needs it.

and about the hard disk is something that really can fail at any time, and therefore this story is even stranger, because he never thought about it? so if MW3 was in the final stage and his hard drive had failed at that point would he just have lost 1 year of work that easily? to suspect this is entirely natural.
How many times have you, or someone you know said "Yeah that'll never happen to me"?

Most people don't think about it until it happens, I never thought I'd be jumped by 2 guys on my walk home because I refused to sell one of them cigarettes, but hey, shit happens.
