VN - Ren'Py - Jessica O'Neil's Hard News [v0.65] [stoperArt]

This game is easily one of my favourites on the site. I love female protag games where you get to use your sexuality to try and get what you want. This game sets this up really well with the story of working at a law firm.

Only negative is that it's basically a VN and choices don't matter much; but I feel this allows the story to be more concise.

If you play this game, make sure to actually read it and don't skip. 5 stars, can't wait for more.

Excellent sexy story with superb artwork and extremely well written. As others have said I won't play blackmail or similar games but like where the MC makes the decisions. Also I do like the female MC games with a hot MC. The only reason I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars are the delays with updates, however, don't let that put you off what is a fun and sexy game to play.

Reviewed as of v0.45: If you like smart writing, hot female characters, and a compelling storyline, then "Jessica O'Neil Hard News" (JOHN) should appeal to you. I am a fan of AVNs with female protaganists, especially those who have real agency--that is, they're not simply thrown into lewd situations by blackmail or other crap done by douchy male characters. In other words, I'm not a fan of AVNs where women get "corrupted." Just as plenty of men enjoy sex, plenty of women do, too, and it's fun to play a female character who does.

The dialogue and storylines in JOHN are smart and feel real. I've never worked for a newspaper, but I have been a professional TV and radio reporter, and I got the impression that stoperART has genuine journalism or media experience. The sexy situations also strike me as realistic. Not realistic in the sense that these kinds of things happen all the time, but realistic in the sense that nothing I've seen so far is preposterous or even terribly out of the ordinary, at least for a hot character like Jessica O'Neil. Pulled together, the scenarios and characters--fleshed out with great art, animations, and writing--make JOHN one of the most erotic AVNs I've ever played.

The story also provides lots of replay value, as choices put Jessica on different paths with different outcomes.

This game escalates sexual encounters gradually, but is not exactly a slow burn, as there are hot lewd scenes from the very start. At the same time, it's clear that future versions will only get hotter. I, for one, can't wait to see the next update!

Superb game that caters to a wide array of fetishes. The writing is very solid and there is a good balance between story and sexy scenes. Great models, great clothing and a steady pacing that is well rewarded.

Excellent game! The setting has the potential for a lot of exciting scenes - a reporter who needs to get to the bottom of a story and the best way to do that is flattery and seduction. The renders are superb, the story is interesting, and choices are fairly straightforward.
At version 0.45, it feels like the story is only about 30% complete, so I really hope to see more from this game and will be keeping an eye on it.

One of the better VNs

• Great MC female who is super hot (and I prefer brunettes to blondes)
• A fairly involved story, that is interesting to read
• Animations are kept to a minimum, but the ones there are enjoyable for the little bit we see
• I like the neighbor, Heather is a very different model/shape than the MC; even though many of the co-workers seem to all be big tits, full butt, curvy waist...just like the MC.
• On that note of preferring more variety of models, I hope to see more of sister Laura and the MILF, MC's mom.
• Three routes it seems...at least with the MOD 1. slut route (possibly the most sex and fun...maybe?); 2. faithful to boyfriend route; c) normal mode/your own choices...sort of a mix of the other two. You definitely get different scenes than the slut only route.
• I appreciate this is Renpy and not some low feature Unity VN/game. This means the graphics can be compressed and the download smaller, which I prefer
• Some sound effects, which are fun during the sex scenes and other scenes

Love the plot. the art an jessica is one o f a kind . I can wait to see how the storie unfolds. SO far is one of my favourote games so fat, only behind Fashion Bussiness and Point of no return. Jessica O'Neil's Hard News (v 0.45) is a great game. The story revolves around Jessica, who has just got a work in the newspaper. Though it starts slow, the story is interesting from the start, with nice characters, interesting twists and so on. She has a boyfriend and will have to face different and meaningful choices, which lead to possible cheating and so on, as she knows sex can help her further her career. It has a lot of slice-of-life scenes but many of those, like the work hours, are actually interesting with several plotlines relating to political corruption, a mysterious vigilante, etc.

Renders are of a very high quality which is always very nice. Not so much the animations, which are usually a bit poor, with little animated and short animation loops. Better than nothing, of course, but subpar when compared to others. Sounds are well done, even though there is no voice acting in it.

So, to sum it up, it's a great game, worth your time if you are interested in this kinds of stories.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the scenario and the dialogues, this game is undoubtedly one of my favorites, graphically very beautiful, endearing character, lust is present, not frankly I like it a lot.

I can't promote a 3 years old game for it's potential.
If you didn't try it, please go away and don't try it before 2023.

Gottdamm is this game hot. This is hands down one of the hottest games I've yet played. From the renders to the situations, everything is just spot on.
I absolutely love how Jessica has agency and never is anyone's cum dumpster; she absolutely enjoys herself and very often will take the lead. It's an incredibly refreshing depiction.
I also love that you can deny her BF sex and get yours elsewhere.
If cheating content doesn't appeal to you, you can choose to play it straight as well.
There's really something for everyone here.

Positives:
+ Renders are next-level hot
+ Jessica is an awesome, in-control MC
+ Story is entertaining

Negatives:
- Not a lot of content for girls aside from Jessica (a minor complaint really, and I would assume the others will get theirs as things go on)
- Updates take a while to come out (but are worth it!)

Every update for this game is great and it just keeps getting better and better.
This is one of the very few games I've played where both the story and the sex are awesome.

Thriller + Female Protagonist + Corruption = Best Combination ever! Best GFX available. Highly Recommended! Got a completely new vibe. The MC is sexy and artworks are also great. I wish dev will finish this completely and quickly.

Pros:
- Cool and realistic story with many branches
- Quality of renderings is outstanding
- Gorgeous MC and NPCs
- Lot of locations add immersion into unfolding story
- Dev is constantly polishing the game, fixing and sometimes even reworking entire scenes. So it feels as one smooth and consistent story

Cons:
- Development's cycle is pretty long, about 3 releases per year at current rate

This game deserves more than 5 stars is very good especially the animations the graphics Also the dialogues between the npcs and the MC that are very well worked are fantastic. In my opinion there's nothing wrong, it just takes a while to be released because it's a lot of work, making animations a good dialogue, a good creative story and also the game creator's rest time too, he's not a robot, there's Recognizing that a perfect game like this can't be released so fast has to understand that I'll wait for the game to be released is worth it for a masterpiece like this the creator is to be congratulated is one of the best female protagonists games ever made are at the top for me, it's my number one, I know there are a lot of similar female leading games and good ones too,

Cons:

-Non stop teasing, but there is almost not a single real action if you don't consider the bf, which if i speak for myself, bf's and husbands in this kind of games doesn't count.

-The scenes / situations are far from being realistic and the mc always slips away in the last moment. When it happens only once or twice its good, it builds up something. But if it happens almost every time then it becomes ridiculous.

-Plot is meh, nothing unique about it.

Overall game actually has a potential to become something good in 3-4 years with this pace. But for now, it doesn't fulfill any promises and keeps disappointing you with the last moment slip aways.

After seeing all the positive reviews for this one I decided to give it a shot but after playing through the current content I expected a little more from this title.

Pros
- Quality renders
-Decent animations, nothing spectacular but they do the job
-Good looking MC and some side characters
-Some nice sound effects

Cons
-Story was a little weak in parts for my tastes, found myself skipping quite a lot which I don't normally do if I am engaged
-Content is rather lacking considering development time
-Not enough action outside of the MC's boyfriend who is rather bland imo, plenty of teasing and nothing else, very disappointing

So to sum things up it's not a bad VN as it has great renders and decent animations but with an average storyline that lacks content along with the heavy teasing I was only left feeling disappointed.

My thoughts after playing v0.41.

I liked:
-Jessica
-hot women
-great renders and animations
-option for POV scenes
-great and entertaining story. Unlike the usual porn games, it's not just an excuse so the game can have a plot and then throw in sex scenes.
-hot sex scenes, especially between Jessica and Heather
-Jessica's actions and character development is dependent on the players choices. Want her to be loyal to Conner, bi-sexual, slut, swinger or a cheater or a combination of any of those, it's up to the player, but it would be easier to check out a walkthrough so the player can have an idea on the consequences of her options.
-Jessica can choose how she wants her relationship with other characters to be like. In other words, the game does not force Jessica to have sex with every other characters in the story. In one of my playthroughs I decided for Jessica to keep a professional relationship with all of the men especially the dirty old men except Conner, the story, scenes and dialogues adapted to the choices she made which is great, unlike other games that will just delete scenes for that matter.
-choosing for Jessica to be loyal to Conner does not mean the story will be boring and short of content, in fact, Jessica and Conner's sex scenes are hot and there's a lot of it, While choosing for Jessica to have other sexual relationships aside from Conner will obviously result in more content due to the added scenes from other characters aside from her boyfriend, I chose not to let her get involved with other men especially the shady ones and the dirty old men, and have her fun with other women instead, especially Heather and Blake. There are no sex scenes with Blake as of this update, however I am really hoping that Jessica can have a relationship with her and have sex scenes with her in the upcoming updates. An incestuous relationship with Laura would be nice as well but I don't know if the devs have any plans like that in the future.
-the characters are not the over voluptuous types with absurd tits and asses
-the explicit narration of the story and events are great
-the dialogues, character's thoughts and dirty talk is great as well
-the game is not all about fucking around, yes there's a lot of sex and it's great, but it is story driven as well and shows the other aspects of life of the characters aside from their sex lives
-the characters change clothes, something that you don't usually see in games

I didn't like:
-no sex scenes with Blake yet and I hope there will be lots of it as well
-i hope there will also be a possibility for a relationship with Laura, it's frustrating that she is untouchable as of this update because she is hot!
-an option to rename the saved scenes will be nice but not having that feature is no big deal
-it'd be nice if there is a way to track the variables in the game like relationship points and others that affect Jessica's character development

I'm sure that the positive things that I wrote here aren't all the positive aspects of the game, for me those were the ones that made me like and enjoy this game. It definitely is a must try. 5 stars for me.
