The plan with the various choices you make in the opening is that they will continue to impact the story in various ways for the entirety of the game. So if a particular choice had little to no bearing on Episode 1, it definitely will in the future!

Well I hope you will add more choice like that, after all some things could be said latter in the story. Also I'm guessing there will be some back story about the 5 years of disappearing and you could choose to add some choices when that part is revealed.
You didn't say anything about the "action" part. Do you plan letting that proportion of story/action or do you plan to up a little that proportion? Action like the submiting of the father count as action in my book.

To answer this question, I played a mostly sub Duvessa and still had these experiences. So it seems to just be a core part of her character for reasons I assume we'll learn about in the future.

Status Update #21 - June 8, 2025

This week, in addition to writing, I have been focusing on getting production underway for Episode 2. I had already commisisioned a few pieces for it, but everything is now full steam ahead. The biggest impediment to a timely release is going to be the sprites; there are a lot of new characters joining the cast in Episode 2, and in order for me to make CGs featuring them, they must first exist. I am, however, trying to work something out with the artist that will speed things up a bit!

I've given the production schedule some thought since last week's update, and I have decided that the best thing for me going forward will be to release the episodes in parts. Episode 2, in particular, is going to be released in two parts, with the first coming in an optimistic August or a pessimistic September. These releases are always going to be substantial, never byte-sized, but I have realized that this is the best way to get people more regular content while also maximizing the game's visibility! The first bonus scene, as a reminder, is still coming on the 25th. A big thanks once again to everyone who has played the game!

That is a smart move to keep the engagement imho.

Amazing game. It's been awhile since I found a game so engaging and good. The only thing I can ask more of is more dominant female characters (excluding the MC) because I'm more into playing submissive protagonists for females (femdom with MC subbing). I loved Scars by the way. Just wanted to give my opinion. Strong and great first version. Excited for what's next already.

Also I found the way you have written Duvessa not having other choice than to erase his debt not really convinicing. Not saying it's false, just doesn't feeled like that when I read it.

I think as the story branches out more, there will be more and more unique scenes for people on a specific path. And, as I said earlier, ep 1 will be the last time you ever have to work with Jasen if you don't wish to.

There are very few games (literally just a few) where the female protagonist is strong and dominant (especially throughout the game) (and especially if, at the same time, she possesses or achieves real power) and achieves her goal.
The special value and uniqueness of such games (and this game in particular) is where this is possible.

I hope that it will be possible to play as a strong and dominant Duvessa throughout the entire game! I hope Duvessa achieves all her goals, easily deals with everyone who gets in her way and everything will be fine with her!

Same but I hope it will not be too easy. Some setback would make the story more interesting. Not being humiliated, always gaining some little victories (before getting the big one) and being most of the time ahead of all her ennemies. I hope she will suprises us with unexpected plan reaveled at the last moment.

Status Update #22 - June 15, 2025

Production of Ep. 2 is as underway as I said it would be last week, with all of the artists working on the game currently doing stuff for me. On my end, I have written quite a bit in the past week and have a much better internal roadmap for how things will be playing out. The biggest challenge in writing this episode is likely to be the fact that it's going to be juggling multiple plotlines at once, as opposed to the first, which was laser-focused on just the one story about the trial. I have to make sure that everything ends up flowing well, which is just a bit intimidating!

I also decided to try hiring someone to design new thumbnails for the game once it launches on Steam. From what I understand, the engagement the game has been getting on available platforms is already pretty good, but why not try making it even better? I'll also be releasing a 1.03 of Episode 1 either in tandem with or before the game is up on Steam...it won't actually change much of anything, but it will be a significant reduction in file size, which some people have been asking me about.

Regarding your answer to my question on Patreon I think it is good that you consider to leave an uncompressed version. I personally just don´t like the idea of compressed graphics even though it surely is more a feeling than justified. But I have enough disk space and fast enough internet.

Yeah, the goal is to reduce file size without compromising the images at all. I wouldn't do it otherwise.

Hi there hello, happy almost one month anniversary of the game's release!

Writing + art production continues! The document I keep with errant ideas and dialogue has been updated with some great stuff lately, on top of the obvious progress on the episode 2 script. Unlike the first episode, which took me a year and a half to make for various reasons, I'm working with an explicit budget every month atm, and art is certainly expensive! I cannot stress enough at the moment that anyone who contributes to the game financially will be directly helping make new releases come sooner, and that 100% of their money will be directed toward the game's production.

There will be new content coming this week! I'll be releasing the first CG preview for Ep. 2 at some point, and the first bonus scene for Matriarch+ members will be dropping in just three days on the 25th! Today's pic is of Duvessa's new outfit for episode 2. My ambition at present is to add a new outfit once per episode until we eventually reach a point where she's cycling through them like a normal person and the whole visual novel suspension of disbelief where everybody is always wearing the same clothes no longer applies to her. There is definitely a reason so many VNs take place in high schools where everyone has a plausible reason to always wear the same uniform, huh?
