EDIT: I have now played through the content in version 4.1 and the game got much better than the beginning. The start is bad enough, that it hurts the score, and I'll leave the original review as a spoiler at the end.
The cringe-inducing absurdity of the start of the game starts to turn into funny absurdity once the first day is past. The setup with the roomies is still very weird and unnatural, but once the actual tone of the game gets established, it's less jarring. The weird mishmash personality of the MC in the beginning also becomes much more consistent, even if there are some problems. MC just accepting having been hit in the head with a baseball bat is not cool and made it really hard to like the characters involved. Especially since it is just waved away without any repercussions for the people doing or the one ordering it or even a sincere attempt at atoning for it. Makes the characters seem sociopathic.
Once the game got going, I found it quite enjoyable. It's a bit silly, but intentionally so. Every character takes their traits to an exaggerated level, but it fits the tone of the game. Will not be for everyone, but after the bad start I'm very curious to see where it goes and there seems to be a possibility for interesting growth for the characters, which might make them much more deep and nuanced as the story progresses. If the writer can pull it off.
The renders are good enough, but not exceptional. The models are more varied than in many games. Not so much as an attempt to cater to every interest, but to make the character's appearances fit their roles in the story.
All in all, the game would be a 4-star for me if the bad start didn't drag it down. If the creator keeps improving and maybe (much) later on does some edits to the beginning, this has potential to be an easy 4. Maybe even a personal 5 if the writing ends up cashing in on the potential of the hilarious absurdity and interesting world-building. I'll be glad to update the review again, if that comes to pass.
