This continues in the current update as well. It is annoying, serves no purpose and needs to stop. Also, ending an update with an infinitely repeating ellipsis upon clicking is very poor UX. It is even worse given all of the times you have to click many many times to progress a scene rather than the single time it should take.-There were a lot of times when I had to click multiple times for the scene to change. If this isn't just me and machine then I suggest a code review.
Both those things are, unfortunately, staples of the inspiration (or rip-off, dealer's choice) that the dev was utilizing. This continues in the current update as well. Yeah, it's another one of these but let's be honest, I'm not about to entirely dismiss something basd on its inspiration. So far it's fine. If I can give you some advice, drop the multiple clicks on nothing and make it clear that the current content has ended. I was clicking through those elipses for a while... Also I know it's not supposed to be a sandbox, but you are starting to introduce a lot of characters. Maybe some way of keeping track of them, like a journal in the menu or something might be nice

That said, I also hate when that dev does it. Just give us a "save here" instead of an unending ellipsis.
The comparassions are inevitable, but so far I think you're doing great at being your own thing. I'm enjoying what we have so far and really looking forward to see where this is all going. The one other LiL-like that showed some promisse ended up with the author going to jail, so...I didn't want the game to feel too much like a LiL clone
