there's so much wrong with this post i don't even know where to start. after all that you even end with "it's just a story"? So the John Wayne stories don't matter anymore either then? And what the hell does the exact origin of scalping have to do with anything? Are you saying native Americans' scalping weren't barbaric just because someone else did it first? They were barbaric in certain ways, just like any other people in the history of the world.
