You gain levels by making someone pass out. I think you also get EXP for applying restrains.

This game was cool but pretty fucking broken when I played it before. Has the new update fixed the functionality at all?
New stuff is cool, but game always softlocked on me when trying to hogtie someone, just fade to black for eternity

So carrying a girl into the portal and talking to the hub area girl freezes the game
That was to break the game
Game is kinda too fast to press Z in such quick succession if you fight an enemy with +7 levels since Z is half a keyboard away. So you have to ignore Z. But if there 2 Zs in one fight you lose.
There really needs to be a setting to change or disable Z
