Hello everyone, Corintio here!
I had to trim down this changelog and try to tweak the language so it didn’t get too technical. But we can summarise what we did these past two months in three words: Game Settings Foundation.
We improved a lot in how reliably the game saves and loads your choices, so let’s say, for some reason, you are facing a crash or low performance when you try to open the game and this is preventing you from getting past the main menu. Now you can edit the .ini files that are generated in your AppData folder to tweak everything from texture resolution to DirectX and even subtitles from that text document. This will immensely help people debug crashes and try to deactivate features such as Lumen or DLSS when, for some reason, they’re not working for them.
Due to this work, we removed the ability to change the controller settings, but don’t worry, that will be back by the 10th of next month.
We have also added the new clothes for Amara, new romantic and more softcore animations for Kalyskah’s interactions with male characters, and the interactions with female characters are on their way.
We also finished the Forgotten Smith questline when you don’t bring Ilreth and did some tweaks here and there to other behaviours on a couple of other quests.
I hope you enjoy this patch, we didn’t test the game settings extensively on other machines and your feedback on whether or not it is working as intended is vital for us!
Fixes:
- Fixed an infinite loop crash related to DLSS when it was initialised late
- Fixed DirectX-related crashes, as players are now able to select which version they want to use
- Prevented GameUserSettings from resetting on first launch
- Applied defaults only when the player saves
- Stopped Fullscreen Mode, Resolution, and Difficulty changing just by opening the menu
- Corrected Lumen reflection artefacts
- Corrected default Lumen values in configs
- Restored the lost Goblin Dungeon level
- Fixed broken world events that prevented the player from progressing in a few quests
- Removed duplicated Target Manager in the open world, which might fix the issue where players would be overloaded with things in their compass. Although it’s not yet 100% complete.
- Fixed rabbit behaviour in the opening sequence
- Improved the Karnsten Legion’s cape cloth clipping
- Fixed materials with the wrong Ambient Occlusion that made them black (Such as next to the Library)
- Fixed lighting issues in the goblin dungeon that made the sunlight pass through the walls
- Fixed Michael’s cutscene that made Kalyskah disappear from it, as well as his weapon state in the Fallen Temple
- Made Alvina’s prologue cutscene reliable by preventing her lines from being cut early
- Fixed a floating servant that was spawning during Alvina’s cutscene.
- Corrected typo in Crystal Research’s quest log
- Corrected the Meteor quest time label (It used to say ‘hours left’ when we meant ‘elapsed time’)
Enhancements
- Simplified advanced rendering options in DefaultEngine.ini for performance
- Overhauled DefaultScalability.ini for consistent quality levels
- Refactored the ini file input and output for reliability, so players can consistently save their game settings
- Improved performance and UI logic in the game settings menu
- Changed several log calls from Error to Warning (This is an internal change, but later we’ll roll something to allow players to better report their issues to us)
- Switched footstep logic to an interface, which will slightly improve the performance when multiple characters are walking next to Kalyskah.
- Tweaked animation sound effects for erotic scenes
- Added emotions to the Pesky Pirates dialogue
- Adjusted hardware ray tracing options
- Reviewed Nanite and Lumen usage in project settings
- Cleaned configuration and code (This is why it took us so long to release a new demo this month)
Features:
- Added Ray Tracing and DirectX selector with pending values that apply after restart
- Added Lumen cache handling in settings that will prevent light artefacts when the resolution is changed
- Implemented the Forgotten Smith quest path without Ilreth
- Added Ilreth’s scythe dash skill
- Added new softcore animations with interactions, Tender Hug, and Passionate Kissing
- Added a new attire for Amara
- Added a disclaimer when players start a new game to give a better grasp of what we aim to improve on the following months.
- Updated game credits
