I don't understand how leveling works in this game.
I have done a full playthrough before restarting because I couldn't beat the final boss. All my stats were very balanced and as a result, I was stuck. I talked to the cat who explains that it is needed to specialise and not use every skills, so I tried to do that.
On a fresh new game, I tried to use only dexterity and energy skills in a fight (a bit of mind too) by switching between slash and cautious stance only.
In the end, to my surprise, not only the dexterity and energy stats had risen up but also strenght, stamina and agility.
I had only taken the base edicts of dexterity, mind and endurance (and an accessory).
I really don't understand this result. I was expecting to increase only dex and energy.
I'm really confused.
A lot of activities can raise multiple stats. Every stat has by default a base growth rate that makes it level up a little even when you don't do anything for it. Sure you only invested in dexterity, but attacking also raises strength and stamina and dodging (whose chances are increased with cautios stance) raises agility and stamina for example. As great as it is, this games is really annoying with how it tells you almost nothing even when seeking it out in game.

If you're just looking to beat it and get the empress end, avoid any difficulty higher than secretary, and keep order hovering around 40 to 60 for a good a mount of cash flow and to prevent game overs in case of riots. At the start, pick the title 'cost saving supervisor' or 'hardworking tutor', then 'sensitive anus' (hard for them to acces) and finally 'wanton slut'. sure you gain passives faster, but the goal is fast completion and if all goes well you're only getting sadist passives which increase strength. Keep all desires under 50 as it gives combat bonus and especially keep cock desire under 35 as that's the minimum desire needed for inmates to cum on you (bukkake passives makes you weaker really quick). Don't worry if a desire goes over 50 btw, just don't let it happen too often to prevent gropings. Dexterity is a really good stat to focus in on as it gives accuracy bonus but only buy the first one and cleave. What you should focus on for damage output are the halbert offensive edicts on the personal page. other good stats are endurance with stamina training and defensive stance and mind with healing thoughts. if you get these, you really don't have to look at the training page anymore. You don't have to do any of the side jobs. They're a waste of time unless you're trying to unlock titles or trying to get as many passives as possible (or you know, seeing karryn get fucked). edicts to focus on are ones that lower cost and increase income. Avoid ones that increase enemy stat or decrease subsidies. be mindful of control as well. try to keep it at -2 to -8 when there isn't a riot.
In battle:
- Always use the ki mind skill unless a desire reaches 35+ in which case use supress. only use one mind skill per turn and don't use them if mind is below 20 (unless you have to) as they're less effective.
- always focus the weaker enemies first. prisoner, hobo, nerds and goblins since they're almost always a one shot and the less enemies the better. unless there's a rogue and/or lizard, which should have top priority.
- In a normal playthrough it's fine to alternate between slash and strike as you're not trying to get one of the stat titles yet. if an enemy is charging up, use defensive stance, unless it's a lizard which means it's calling an ally.
- When you beat enough enemies you get the taunt and flaunt skill. don't use the taunt skill, you do not want any enemy angry, especially the fucking nerds. flaunt is fine to use at the beginning of waves tho as making enemies aroused/horny makes them attak less.
- Keep in mind an enemy's names, not just the color but what's wirtten.
- White and pink (and yellow on secretary difficulty) is basic
- Gray is weaker
- gray + metal are special enemies that give bonus exp for the day, but usually just runs away. very low priority.
- Green means you can't one shot it (they also always cum 2 times)
- Red is stronger overall and can't be one shot.
- there's also white enemies with extra text meaning they're also stronger. Things like muscular, buff, fit etc. Treat them like you would red.
- At the end of the day if you're pleasure is too high, but fatigue is low enough (20 or less) just sleep. Don't do this for more than 2 days tho, just masturbate at that point and always masturbate before a boss battle. Never masturbate in the guard office.
These tips count mostly for the empress ending, but can fit in other playthroughs too. The key to beating a playthrough is to do it as quickly as possible. enemies get stronger each day and more dangerous ones can show up as well. Also if it's still too frustrating, just cheat in money and titles with a save editor or the other cheat mods in here. The game is very time consuming and extremely infuriating lol.
EDIT: oh and when you beat a level, you unlock "problem" edicts. enemy edicts to the right of a level page. When you get the chance, pick the middle one for thug, goblin, rogue and orc as it weakens enemies in the long run. lizard one requires too much investment while the nerd one is really only useful for getting rid of the blackmail cost (whic is good, but not a priority). blackmail being a cost that increaes everytime you gain corruption.
Is this game animated? I saw a few gameplay videos which may not be an accurate representation of the game but they were all static images.
sort of. There are 2 types of in-battle art. the main one and cut ins. The main ones are static (except for the face) unless it's the cowgirl position of anal and vaginal which has 2 frames. the cut ins are a bit more animated. what helps this one a lot is the sound and voice acting.
