They were revering to the developer build of the mod, it's how the website the mod is on refers to the different versions of the mod available. There's the "stable / complete" version of the mod for the previous game version (.7A) and the "development / dev" version for the update to the new base game version (.7B).
As the actual mod developer has said, they have nothing to do with the base game development.
Which file was it that you can see the numbers that are needed for that? and just out of curiosity would making that number suffice

If anyone else finds the Nerds absolutely disgusting and a blemish on an otherwise amazing game then you can try out this modification here. I've simply copy pasted the prisoner images and renamed them to nerd. It works fine for me. Just drag and drop these files into your enemy picture folder.
