Heres a question, why hasn't Karryn's Prison been updated on the main page? It still comes u as v1.0.3c even though posts for 3d 3e and v1.0.4 have come out. I honestly don't think it showed up on the main page since like 0.9* or so. Is it just being updated to often as of late, or because its now fully released, or waiting for something inparticular?

have patience, it was only updated a day or so ago. it's not like most people here have paid for the game, it is being pirated. the moderators will get to it. if you need to have the most current version, use the version on steam, but you will have to pay for it. i think there was a link to the latest version on the previous page.

It also weakens your character as the inmates (such as the Nerds) can use the information against you.

Yeah, when you get to the second floor you'll encounter Nerds. They have an ability that gets stronger weakening Karryn with more published informaton edicts. If your low on money, which most are in this game, one title that ive found to be useful is "Excellent Leader" which gives a 5% increase to income and halfs the negative control but prevents gaining order. It requires to maintain 100 order for 10 full days straight. If you grind a little early and get it, and get edicts the increase your control you'll be able to slowly save and not have to fight as often. Downside is the more days that pass without fighting the stronger the enemies become so if you use it dont abuse it. Theirs a title better with 10% than that one but takes much longer to get, not sure on the number of 100 order to get.

Yeah, speedruns involve "grinding days" because that's how you get subsidies. That can include mini-games after the 1st floor subjugation. You will let order drop then spend yon days rising order by fighting mobs (roughly three fights, less if you buff the guards). You play this until you hit the threshold for order dropping (or longer as you only lose one extra order for each extra day). You spend your funds powering up Karryn in your preferred build because most of the prison stuff is waste. Other than increasing order with certain edicts (so riots aren't a big deal), you don't have to bother with anything else.

And if you do try to run the prison like a sim, you realize the money generation on income is so FUBAR that making a decent profit is nigh impossible. The money you spent to fix the prison is more than you'll get back making it an exercise in futility and outright inferior to just living off the subsidies and beating up inmates. And to top this low income generation, you can't enact edicts without edict points meaning that even if you do have the funds, you're gonna be waiting (though to be fair, the office edict of turning those unused points into money took this into account). But you can't wait as you have X amount of days to get shit done (except in Secretary).

And then there's the mini-games:
Bartending which take long and will net you 300g in a normal run. I've been told there's a bar title to increase tips after ten rounds without getting drunk but its negligible given the time you already put in.
Secretary job is a money pit (you waste 200g in expenses for it just existing) and doesn't generate income unless you up the riot risk. Something something tip jar, never got it.
Toilet job doesn't pay anything but increases staff efficiency which is negligible. If you want to reduce fatigue and clear your pleasure meter via orgasm, that's possible but not necessary.
Stripper job is useful for riot prevention but I don't bother as I can just go subjugate the 4th and 5th floors (cause I'm already strong enough to do so. I've seen it generate high amounts but without putting in the hours, 300g is the norm.

Yes, a speedrun involves grinding days. Now this is where you say nothing. And I go back to sleeping cause the income generation is still shit.

I'd be willing to help you, but all your posts are constant bitching about the game being too hard.

Still, here's some points for you to consider:
1. It's nigh impossible to beat prisoner on a fresh save (1st playthrough).
2. Bar job is easy 1k+ even in early game, provided you know what you're doing and don't mind getting passives.
3. Reception is mostly for the +order, not for money.
4. Staff efficiency is definitely NOT negligible, if you've bought the right edicts.
5. There are multiple ways of playing the game.
6. You suck. Try harder.

2. Bar job is an early game job, it unlocks after beating first boss of the game. How do you expect people to know "what they're doing" at this early in the game? You can't justify bad gameplay mechanics here because players are simply not experienced yet to know what they are doing. Saying "if you have played this game for hundreds of hours like me you would know how to play" is a very bad excuse for a bad gameplay mechanic.

5. There are multiple ways of torturing yourself:
Go for a slut run -> Karryn ends up having orgasms just by being stared.
Go for a pure run -> Karryn ends up gaining unwanted passive(s) anyway.
Go for a normal run -> Lose the game anyway because losing the game and playing again with unlocked passives are the intended way to play the game, literally adding another layer of grinding for no reason.

6. No, player doesn't suck. It's the gameplay mechanics that sucks. This porn game is unnecesserily grindy and unfair to the player and it doesn't even explain shit. There is a reason why people still ask how to get light kick or how to unlock sex skills or how to unlock certain passives. It's not because they are dumb, it is because game doesn't give any explanation about anything at all. Sure starting area has npc's that try to explain stuff but they are simply not enough. And there are still some unexplained factors to things that are explained there. For example one of the npc's explain that endurance is supposed to decrease sex damage but why does Karryn still take 50% pleasure damage when making endurance build? Is it because of negative sex resist gained from passives? But if that's true than how am I supposed to make a slut build and win the game? Decreased sex damage doesn't matter when Karryn is constantly orgasming at the sight of a penis. Oh that and also you are literally punished for making a slut run because of the amount of negative passives you get. The game is like "Oh you want to enjoy scenes and progress through the game? Too bad, take this passive which makes Karryn come even faster".

And there are subsidies, which is supposed to be a risk&reward mechanic, turns out it is an instant game over, you literally lose everything if a riot happened when you were trying to earn money from subsidies. The game is like "Oh you are trying to make money in your 6 hours playthrough? Too bad, let me create a riot at the worst moment possible so you lose 6 hours of your life"
Even dark souls games which are famous for their difficulty allow you to learn and recover from your mistakes but this game? This game doesn't respect you or your time. Literally 1 mistake can ruin your entire playthrough. And sometimes it isn't even your mistake but a retarded level design, for example you can get stuck in a "losing streak" because there is an enemy blocking your way to the guard room and he never moves away. Your only way is to fight but you are too tired so you just start a losing streak until you lose your playthrough. The more time you sink into it more you realize this game is simply unfair, unbalanced and grindy. But sure you can have fun after playing for 100+ hours because now you know how to do everything. But if a game becomes fun after 100 hours is it actually fun? Especially when that game is a porn game?

I had this issue, don't use the one in OP, look for karryn's prison wyldspace CCmod mod, from what I can tell, it's a more up to date one. Seems to work fine.

A question to the veteran wardens of the prison!
I have the game version (v.8.o) up and running with the mods / edits a while ago (minor glitches like no face features during some animations/attacks but i can tolerate).
I played but not much (1st boss beaten)
However,
i see the game now is at (v1.0.3c Full), should i install the current version or hasnt there been a significant change to warrent the admittedly tedious setup process!

It is at v1.0.4 FULL right now as of writing this comment with the unofficial CCMod also made half-compatible with it(Some files are still at v1.0.2a for the mod atm).

There's no reason not to update and I don't see anything tedious having to simply drop the mod files into the game's mod loader. (I keep a separate installation for CCMod since it changes the main game files)

The game is very old school with its approach to difficulty but it is not bad game because of it. It is simply not a game for everyone. "Challenging vs punishing games" is a great watch for anyone interested.

Porn here is meant to be the reward that keeps you going against the odds. The reward factor is still very relevant today. People will put up with ridiculous amounts of grind or attempts to perfect something because they deem the reward worth it.
