Seeing as there is a new update( a big one presumably) on the horizon, should I continue the game with my current saves or should I just start over? Because my current game is the 0.09 version. I didn't actually play the 0.096 update and I know that quite a few drastic changes took place in the game after 0.09.

FYI the upcoming update is called 0.096 p(art)3. while i can't guarantee for anything, my own save files originate all the way back since first playing katalist (0.07 iirc), and i didn't run into any major issues apart from not being able to progress macky. that however doesn't need to be related to my files, considering that there's still a lot that can go wrong with her route. in other words, i think you're fine.

I just hope the new update is playable. The last one was BAD in terms of bugs when it first dropped.

Me too. I can't do another buggy mess. I am still having trouble getting Mika to do what she is supposed to do, or trigger the ability to turn in Bonnie and Mika's essences. great game, but so easily breakable.

but also there was a lore implication (maybe multiple) suggesting Dominic is indeed a woman. It's been a hot minute but I want to say it was in a journal entry or something like that. Something that you clearly aren't supposed to read but you do. I think there was also something about Dominic hating the MC in there? Frustrated with how quickly MC picks up magic iirc. Some kind of private diary but I can't for the life of me remember where it was.

the diary is in his room (room 7), but there is no hint at him being a she in it. it honestly rather suggests him to be a dude.

room 7 right across from your room, he calls himself a gentleman, and refers to his mom as being powerful, he also talks about eating spiders, he also talks about hunting down various succubus to absorb their powers (similar to what Dilan does)
hes doing this to get his home back, the other members of the occult have dormant powers in them
I just went back in game to read it theres nothing that implies he is a women and the only thing that implies hes a man is the way he refers to himself
so maybe he is an Incubus that is the only thing I can think of, other than that his journal is creepy
so if I were to speculate - his mom is a powerful succubus who was (betrayed?) (cast out?) or he himself was betrayed, and he is an Incubus hunting down various succubus to gain power for vengeance, he is also cultivating the other members so he can eventually absorb their powers (our MC would be included in this)
now he could be a hidden women (although there are no signs of this) and I would prefer it if he was a women because I find that kinda crazy and toxic two faced attitude hot
thinking about it now, fighting Dominic and absorbing his powers (the way we do with succubus) would be an efficient way to get the power needed to approach the stronger succubus
In the end everyone is toying with us, except John our only true bro

On to other news… how many witches/succubuses do guys think are trying to take over the MC?? I Believe Bonnie is one, then a mysterious girl?? And then something else I don’t remember??? But I’m thinking some other character are probably going to do it as well? It’s interesting then when you go to sleep the opinion to heal your mind pops up and you can pretty much decide if you want those characters invading your mind to increase their control on you (I believe??) sorry it’s been a minute since I’ve done a full play… but I know the witch that revived us say that we’re not anyone special but then why do all these witches want to control us (I know some are just sadistic) but Bonnie is a major hint on something else going on since she use to be cold the others but now she has interest in our character?? Also that other character that mysteriously is with us throughout the game I think??

Although Ayleen is pretty sus (when you find her journal on the left shelf after going through her content she stabs us and brainwashes us so we forget)
The fact that they can drain our essence forever without killing us would be a pretty good reason for them to want to control us though, but I think we are more "entertainment" and they could really care less
although thinking about it bonnie has a few things in her room that are sus, such as "very large birdcages" maybe we get some content where she cages us? D=
she also has "weird costumes" and I think at one point you were able to lookover her work documents
I really hope bonnie gets more content
I also hope the hotel clerk gets some sort of content, there is unused triggers for her and we have the option to "tresspass" over her desk when shes not around

As for "How many people are trying to control the MC?". We actually talked about this a while ago when we were overanalyzing the lore, but IIRC the grand list of people lying, manipulating or otherwise conspiring with the MC include... pretty much everyone minus John
- Vaila appears to have lied about pretty much every single thing she ever told the MC, given how it generally doesn't line up with what everyone else says.
- Dominic is a sussy baka who's also pretending to be on Vaila's side
- Maven and Noo have their own separate political conflict and use the MC for it
- Caroline is also using him to investigate. It's not really clear how much about what she says is a lie but her goal appears genuine.
- Bonnie is up to shady shit
- The school cult has its own weird shit going on and it's not clear how the MC fits into it (though they appear to despise succubi)
- Vhidna, Ayleen and Miki don't appear to be lying per se but y'know, they definitely don't mind keeping a slave around
- The mindsink shows at least two different entities trying to take over the MC.
- Then there's that other secret character with CGs who seems somehow linked to mindcontrol and the MC going insane... though that part of the plot isn't very clear (at least to me and so far)
I've said this before but the plot is ridiculously complex for a porn game. I love it like that, but even in non-porn standards this is approaching Kojima levels of insanity.
