Hmmm I'm thinking you would probably run into bugs doing that since there's going to be conflicting code.

Ren'Py errors from saves usually are when developers introduce new variables in older parts of the game you are already past and then use these variables in newer parts of the game. Since your save game did not have this variable stored, you get an error.
The bestiality scene was removed from the script. It won't break saves. Your old save just has some extra unused variables now.

1.13b fixes a manipulation route bug where corruption renders were showing up. Fixed some typos and dialogue errors.

Well, the patreon page file name is also Katie-1.13 so i'm not sure.
One other thing; In this update, you'll also have the choice to swap routes from Manipulation route to Pure corruption route. This is the last chance for a swap and is not reversible. Katie will still be engaged to Brian in this case.

Because there are only three routes (one gone/one new) it's simple to safe them all just before the main scenes - no need to swap
