Months.... Some folks seem to be confused.... It isn't the update release you should be exited for.... its the 2 to 4 bug fixes that they will have to release afterwords to make the update playable. The proper question isnt when will it release... Its when will it be playable. If the update is even 1/4 of what is hoped that means we probably have a shitstorm of bugs heading our way. Up to now anyone whos anyone keeps many multiple save files at many different points do to the fact that many times events/scenes simply dont fire off for some reason.

Over half a year, most of the new art-content will be low quality throw-away scenes and you want to tell me that the art is the last part they finish? How.. what.. why.. huh? I could understand if the programmers were lazy and that the coding was taking way longer than it should've, but even after all that it's those low quality filler scenes that are dragging on the update?

As a disclaimer, basically everything in this post will be my speculation, so keep that in mind, but i have a theory that explains what the hell happened, or at least most of it.
The "bleed into may" post said that they are mostly done, but they just wanted to add some repeatable scenes. When i (and apparently almost everyone else too) read this, i thought that the CG of those repeatable scenes were done or almost done too and it just needed a bit of writing and coding and the patch is ready.
But the most recent repeatable scenes (the ones that had to be readjusted to turn Sabia into a human again) seem to be a different set of reworked sketches from the one posted in june by deefrost here. So Nomo first upgraded the art of the sketches that were used in the earlier scenes in Sabia's tent and added some varians as we have seen, then since april he made new variants for repeatable scenes with different version in the pleasure tents and probably the brothel too.
In short, my theory: there is basically a full patch that was developed until May with the content that was mentioned before (updated sketches, clothing options, story progression, etc) and an almost separate part, a "half update" or whatever that contains the pleasure tent and brothel content.
So this would be kind of a "one and a half" patch.
If this is correct, then measured in bytes, the next update will be quite large with a lot of new assets and variants, but otherwise it's going to be a normal update with the repeatable scenes tacked on as a bonus.
In other words, the amount of normal scenes and story progression is basically the size of a regular update, but the Tent+Brothel content wouldn't have been a satisfying update on it's own since it doesn't have main story elements or normal scenes.
On the bright side we will finally get repeatable scenes and a functioning Tent interaction for Sabia that can be carried on or expanded in later updates, but on the flip side we really just had to wait 2 whole update's worth of time for 1.5 update.
Then again, i can be wrong on anything and everything.

"The Update will bleed into May" has turned into the update will bleed into August, and then September, and then... rinse and repeat with this game.

Even in the small offchance that you are correct, it's still an added 3~ months ontop of the already long wait JUST for those, and I can't stress this enough, garbage repeatables. I mean it's not that i don't like repeatable scenes, it's just that I'd probably get off to a fade to black "And then Sabia got fucked lmao" harder than looking at those scenes. Don't get me wrong, they do take time and skill too. But compared to every other art in the game they look like sketched early prototypes of potential scenes Nomo couldn't be arsed to make into real ones.
Or in other words, they look like a picture you'd see in the background of Sabias tent as an easter egg, but it's zoomed in. No matter how many times Nomo tries to rework them, make them better, more "complex", adds more variants... They will remain low quality sketches compared to the rest of the game and I don't doubt many will skip them because they are just not appealing. They went from "They hired someone for 10 bucks on fiverr" to "They hired someone for 20 bucks on fiverr".

The problem that most on this thread seem to miss is that scenes alone are not good enough,just like you pointed out they need context aka story to give them some value,after all we are here to play h games,if someone wants to get off or simply wants sex then he should go to pornhub.
I personally dont understand the point of repetables,after unlocking a scene you can watch it anytime from gallery and even more complex scenes like those with avion get boring after a few times,the repetables will get boring very soon,have no story to them and worst of all take a huge chunk of time to make + the "remake" .

You pointed it urself, scenes need context. Watching gallery is no difrent then watching cg rip. In perfect world repeatable scenes are tied to somekind of gameplay mechanic, like serving in the tavern to make money and getting groped. It adds scenes to somthing that otherwise would be boring busy work - kind what we have now in KoD: hunting, bar - just hold shift snore fest. Tbh ill take low quality scene that is tied to the game then any one time throw away scene with higher quality. Tho i donno why repeatable scenes are now tied to low quality concept, we had repetables in brothel on day 1, they were not inferior quality.

That's precisely why I'm a fan of repeatables in Sabia's tent. Like the 3 scenes in her tent alread, the one where she releases the captain from the prison and has him stay in her tent, then the other two soldiers and then the orc from the tavern. Those are sexy for me because you can choose to not have any of the sex scenes if you get rid of them fast enough, and if not Sabia gets fucked. Though I'd prefer if you could choose for consensual I'd choose that. Like the ones with the two soldiers, Sabia pretty much gets raped. But I only have a sub save so I don't know if the dom scene has different dialogue.
But either way, those scenes end eventually. I want something more permanent. In a previous post I talked about Sabia letting orcs live with her permanently, (and kick them out whenever she wants). That way you can choose when to access those scenes, and it's much more immersive than going to the gallery. And if you think about it, even though they are repeatable, they only have to work on them once. So it will be like any other scene. Maybe add more dialogue in the future but they won't have to do more art.
Has there even been the slightest hint of a release date recently? I remember the “bleed into may” part, but has there been any more communication on the subject?

Those are some of my favorite scenes in the game for just that reason. I only play sub Sabia and I love how indiscriminately she gets used by the orcs in her tent and how forceful and nonconsensual they are. I know a lot of people hate those scenes but I think they're some of the best in terms of making you feel like you're in a place where you're just a toy to be used. I hope the improved versions are still good and that the repeatable scenes have similar tone for sub Sabia. I can see how the art could be improved but they honestly never bothered me just because the context of the scene was hot to me.
