i cant download
Depends on browser, but in chrome at least, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner. Look for the "more tools"options. In there there will be an option that says "save page as". That will let you download the .rpy file he posted. You can also just use "ctrl s" to do the save thing.

Other browsers should have the same option, but the exact location / menu names may be different.

...The Map continues to be a barren clusterfuck. You can remove half the markers and still have too many.
G'day stranger!

Less of a rebuttal and more of an explanation / observation, from the initial incident I always took the world map and area map as worldbuilding, something that I personally really enjoy - "you're stuck with 'x' orcs and want to avoid 'y' settlement. Here's a handy map to help visualise that."

In me saying that though I do wonder how many cats here thought the same as you did (so I presume): that all of those markers would one day be filled in.

Loyal Human, is that human being loyal to Sabia or Sabia who is loyal to humans?
Oh all the loyalty plus and minuses/slavery/freedom nonsense doesn't matter. It probably won't matter. It's another mechanic that should not have been introduced at this stage.
Pretty sure sub/dom are the only non combat stats that matter for the time being and imagining a time where that isn't the case is like deluding yourself into believe nintendo's offical zelda timeline makese any sense.

Nah, big nah. When you play skyrim you don't see the entire map of tamriel, you see the map of skyrim, you don't also see x and y that you cant even travel to. When you play Assassin's Creed you see the map of whatever setting you're in, and you can visit all of it. The only game in recent memory that had a map you couldn't fully explore was Cyberpunk. The idea that the map exists and you should be able to explore all of it comes from the fact that in most fucking videogames you can visit any location on the map.....

Eh, I'd say that the games you listed are much more open world games, while for whatever RPG trappings they've put on it KoD is a visual novel. So I see it as less of an open world RPG game situation, where you expect to be able to explore most to all of the map and more like any book (usually fantasy) where there's a world map included. It may have parts on the map that the story never goes to, but knowing that there are other nations in the world where events are also happening / being affected by things in the story can expand the idea of the world beyond the story.

A good example I know of is a couple of series by Michael Stackpole, and . Both series focus on a limited number of main countries / locationsin the world, but characters from other nations show up and they are mentioned / discussed in the ongoing war sections of the stories. A video game example of this would be Dragon Age: Origins. There are obviously a number of plot important locations, but the nation that you're in and the world in general is far larger than what you go through and experience in the game. You get to see how parts of the nation are fairing by seeing the darkspawn (orc horde equivalent if you haven't played it) spread from the initial location at the south of the map north, taking out an early map location you go to and continuing to spread on the map as you play the game. You never really actively deal with the main horde much outside the ending of the main quest, getting the military alliances honored by fixing various faction's shit to build up the forces to fight the horde.

Though KoD lacks any of that world building which helps make the map feel less empty, so it doesn't do much for me personally. We really only know anything (besides a name) about the limited number of locations the game visits.

Fair-o, an understandable position. I think when I first saw the map... however much of my brain said 'worldbuilding', another part may also have said 'why oh why would a game like this, ever be that big?', which would've lead me back to 'worldbuilding'.

Agree with the top point. Though given it's tagged (here are least) as a visual novel, and it being made in ren'py, I did take that for a given.

Haven't read those series but you've got damn good taste in authors. Hat's off!

unsure what to do atm. finished bris tent scenes and am unable to continue. Attempting to check on Vehlis, but it keeps telling me to come back another day. Tried passing a few days, but this did nothing to help the situation.

It's borderline abandoned at this point.
In terms of worth, well, there's still some cool art in it.
But I wouldn't expect anything groundbreaking to come out of this project unless things change in a major way.
Ok then let me be more specific, I stopped playing around the time it seemed to start focusing more on lesbianism and dick girl studs with the whole bandit elf thing. Has that still mostly been the focus on the last couple of updates.

Once again my key problem isn't just the incredible lack of content, it's also how it's implemented. Why do they think eroges don't usually feature repeatable scenes within the story? The answer is because the sex should still remain somewhat special and happen as a consequence of several events of natural story progression. KoD started out as a standard dark fantasy setting, where everyone is maybe just a bit hornier than usual. However, people don't just whip their dicks/tits out at every possible opportunity. Thanks to Hreinn's rampant recycling of these boring tent scenes, they haven't just cheapened the unique sexual encounters, they've damaged the story. Sure, you can opt out of a lot of the casual sex prompts, but even having them there is somewhat annoying and makes it seem like the story basically follows porn logic.
As for the Ylva scene... It's fine. I've never been the biggest fan of her design. There are more attractive she-orcs out there.

I think I'm giving up on my submissive run btw. Not because I'm opposed to Sabia getting forced into sexual situation, but because of how far-fetched the story beats become that have to happen in conjunction. At this point nobody should want to ally with her, because she's a liability and a rape-magnet that seems to succeed through sheer dumb luck whenever the narrative calls for it. In the beginning I thought it might be interesting if purposeful submission and more subtle manipulation were a thing. But that's asking way too much of a writer that's preoccupied with squeezing water from a stone i.e. constructing an entire arc around a single new visual.

I have given them the benefit of the doubt because of Noxian Nights. It was one of the first games I played and finished and enjoyed. I havent played an update of KoD in forever, Probably the tentacle monster was the last time and honestly it was a huge disappointment.

It doesnt matter if you play Dom or Sub, All the scenes are just reused with Sabia either being Cockhungry or Smug getting fucked in the exact same positions with different dialogue. Again another complaint I have had since the beginning, All the orcs are the same. They get new names but its basically the same exact model for every Orc with the occasional brown orc showing up. I mean shoot even the few times we have a human fuck Sabia they are the exact same as the orc except they are flesh colored.

At this point just put out the content you have ready like they said in their post and call it quits on this one. Take the good things from NN and the few good things that came from KoD and just make something new.

From what I remember, and I haven't played this game for months and months now (last time I played was when bris started dominating sabia which was last patch ) but I never saw sabia being horny or going out of her way to get fucked. There's sometimes options to say yes but never like in noxian nights where riven just evolved into a massive slut. She always was reluctant and acted like she hated it etc...

The issue is that the Hreinn that made and finished Noxian Nights is not the same as the Hreinn now. It's missing the most important component: Sierra Lee. I think most people here would agree that Sierra Lee is an incredibly talented writer with a good work ethic and experience needed for this kind of project. Nomo, the artist is very talented too, but it's pretty clear that without SL the current team isn't pushing itself to work hard and satisfy the patrons. Besides, the writing was never going to be as good without SL.

If you liked Noxian Nights, look for Sierra's patreon and maybe consider contributing. It's very good value for the money, with The Last Sovereign still having frequent updates and other games being developed alongside it too.

It's really unfortunate that she left the team, considering that a writer as good as SL and an artist like Nomo (in the earlier days, when the art was a lot better) was definitely a killer combination.

Reason for leaving the team?? Also it's true NN was a great game. With lots of endings it was fun.
