So I have a problem, hopefully you guys can help. When I fire up KoD, all of the icons are stacked on top of each other in the top left corner of the window with 'quit' being the only one I can see. Not entirely sure how to fix this.

just use the ren'py launcher, you'll be able to play every windows versions of ren'py games, and use this mod
