Well... This is a VN using Ren'Py so, i don't know exactly what you mean with "gameplay" as foremost usually this kind of games doesn't add status and inventory system, less usual is having a combat system, which in my own opinion are between this kind of games pretty well done here, so, you must ask for overall story, the sister must be dead, MC have way long forgot about her and resolve to do side quest as there was no tomorrow, nonetheless is what developers did with the elf girl mom and their justification for it, it still feels like a slap for the spectator.

• Finalized and improved Quest 15, “The Family Heirloom.” The hunter can now help to summon the spirit of the elf’s mother in order to free himself of his guilt and tell the elf the whole truth. As a result, the elf will hold no ill will toward him and will remain alive. To summon her mother’s spirit, you need to arrive on time for your meeting with her in the forest. Yes they are. However, you can now when you start a new game you can choose which quests you want skipped instead of having to start over from scratch with each new update.
