The modders tend to stick around when a game is good enough, like with Artificial Academy 2 or Honey Select 1, but they tend to drop games almost instantly when they are bad for any reason once a new one comes out or if the game simply is not worth maintaining mod support for, such as AI Shoujo due to its performance issues related to unused assets not being totally removed from calculations the game is making in real time.

In this case, aside from a few differences like location, the topic system, the fact that NPCs cannot start interactions with you automatically, and the art being slightly better, the game is a near carbon copy of the original. That said, it seems that this game is getting equal support so far or pretty close to equal as the major mods for the original are still actively maintained as well as being ported to this one.

this is one of the reasons why I think that Illusion does not know how to make games, just look, even if KKS puts good things in the end it is boring because they are all secondary things. also Ai Soujo, it's very badly optimized, just one light is enough to throw it all away and when it's windy and raining it starts lagging, for AA2 it's horrible to watch, it's an openword with a completely empty map, during sex it doesn't matter which position you're fucking her, both of you always come in those 4 positions, if you come out you disappear from the screen and spit something on the girl and in my opinion that is glue, I have never seen sperm sticking to the floor like this. and AA2 is the copy of AA in fact the success of AA2 came after years because when it came out people were wondering why to play a copy that has higher requirements. nothing will get me out of my head that Illusion doesn't know how to make games, it's been 20 years that he has make them and he hasn't learned yet and since I'm not blind I can see the success that AA2 has had, but this is really the best that Illusion has to offer? it's a sad thing

Honestly, I think Illusion has set the bar when it comes to standard h-games. From the first game that I remember back in 2006 to now, they haven't changed too much because it works for them. Why mess with the formula? Granted it is still very limited and it takes every few years to release a new one. BUT compared to the rest, tell me another game that you can customize a female body, dress them, kinda add personality then fuck them with multiple options. Sadly there isn't very much out there other than COM3D2, Wildlife, Succubus Cafe, and a couple of games from FallenH. Even those are very limited. What Illusion should do is incorporate all the features into one game. Adding customization, fusing 2 characters together, sandbox building, studio and the freedom to walk around but I'm sure that will take years and not to mention who here actually buys their games.

about the Maker I have absolutely nothing to say, it's perfect and you can create the girls you want, the problem is that with more than 40 personalities, many traits and many preferences they all behave in the same way, it seems to be dealing with dolls instead of girls.

They know how to make games, knowing and actually doing are not the same thing and what their customers want doesn't allow them to do what it takes to make better. One light wasn't what caused issues with AI Shoujo, it was an entire island that is still left in the calculations the game makes in the background, likely cut content from the first DLC based on when performance started to go down.

There is no Illusion game where positions matter, so not sure where you're going with AA2 positions, and there are a lot more than four positions in AA2. AA2 isn't just a copy of AA, it added to AA without taking anything away, Koikatsu Sunshine can't say the same because the entire interaction system was changed in a way that does not allow the girls to do any interaction with you after their interaction points are exhausted (girls in the original could ask for sex even after exhausting all their interaction points, meaning that missing out on them asking for it while talking to them was not the end of them asking for it during any given time period since they could still do it).

Illusion isn't a he, it's a they. Unlike most developers to have games on this site, which are almost entirely single man developers, Illusion is actually a small company based in Yokohama.

They DID set the bar, back in 2014, when AA2 was made. The problem, or part of it anyway, is their customers wanted more customization and Illusion sacrificed gameplay for that. I agree on messing with the formula, there are other Japanese developers who learned this lesson, or more accurately their customers' desires are allowing them to keep to a single pattern of development. Illusion's customers wanted something that did not go well with the development pattern set by AA2.

Your suggestion is freaking perfect, and I might also add they should drop trying to put it out by a deadline like a AAA developer, that just isn't very useful in H game development and, as we now see, hurts said development. Maybe then they can finally put out a new game to rival AA2 or AG3 and still give the customers the customization they want.

That would be the same one behind a whole bunch of mods, ManlyMarco, and, as far as updating, he's at least keeping it compatible as other mods change and potentially start conflicting. Not sure if he will ever add more function to it.

Those are the orgasm positions, not the same thing, there are a whole bunch based on what action you are doing (not including the bunch of modded positions added). What I meant by positions not mattering is you don't unlock anything out of using a different position, you can literally go through an entire game on one position and it has the same effect as using every position in the game, no effect at all except how much you enjoy it. The same can be said of all Illusion games, actually. Even this one doesn't really have anything you get out of positions except enjoyment, what matters in this game is leveling up sex experience, which unlocks new positions and actions for later.

They don't interrupt you at everything, you can outrun them easily in both games and at least you get more chances to see specific interactions in the original because they can still interact if they run out of interaction points, they just can't do anything that they can't ask for themselves in the original and they can't even do things like ask for sex in this game without interaction points (I like to wait until they ask for sex to start their first time just in case they have lines mentioning it being their first like they do in the original, which has now taken over a week of real time to get about 23 of 28 girls to ask for it, them being able to ask for it without needing to be interacted with by me, which costs interaction points, would have reduced the time I spent trying to get them to ask for it for their first times by a very large percentage).

I don't even need to go to the city ruins in AI Shoujo, the game starts slow from the very first moment you get control. I wouldn't call it unplayable, but it is certainly an annoyance. That accessory mod bug, now that makes the game unplayable since NPCs freeze up until you restart the game.

It depends on how many the AI throws at you at one time since the entire group is controlled individually and can each run the same exact action at the same time on occasion.

They can do the same in Sunshine, but they stop short and give off a speech bubble above their head (green with sound lines for desire to talk, red with hearts for desire to have sex) that tells what action they want while playing a non-subtitled audio line from their dialogue, the downside being you have to know Japanese by ear or have to have gotten the same line while talking to them to know what exactly they are saying. The Sunshine version CAN have multiple girls coming at you, I once had three in Sunshine, one asking for sex and two asking to talk, all with different personalities, which caused the audio lines to pile up on each other into an unintelligible mess that I don't even think a native Japanese speaker could understand.

ok a game can like but a 2D crap put the bar with all the 3D games made? and School mate 2, Battle reaper,harem mate,interact play,all games where there is a story and you don't have to create characters.

Yes and the HF patch shouldn't be used with the repack anyway, though I have never seen a paywall around it, only a time delay for free release.

I might just be paranoid, but there's been a strange lack of mod updates for a while now...
Whenever I check the Update manager, there's just the one pack for Studio, that I'm withholding from using.

Still get texture errors for outdated zipmods, but no idea if they can be updated.

Whichever one you want and the characters work, but moving them to Sunshine is permanent.

if you want gameplay avoid sunshine.
on the cards you better make a copy,once converted there is no going back.
