Yep, that quest is slightly time consuming - you'll have to portal lamp to an area where there are some (and you can actually reach/get back from in your state) and have to walk a bit back. So far I think that its even more troublesome than fighting the toad boss because its just a bothersome event - though it does reward "virgin" runs.

It's "fixable" by saving and hard resetting
But it doesn't stop labor from immediately breaking it again, so enjoy save>alt+f4>reloading every 10 seconds

Edit: i resolve the above but ill be ten minutes in labor (late preg) and never gave birth

Unfasten it with a yellow stone by pressing E by default. If you run out of rest under the lantern, they will be restored. Consumables can be scrolled with the R button, though they must first be assigned via TAB.
