Are there any updates coming that would require a new save? I am thinking of restarting but have been holding out just in case something is coming soon.
Possibly, Starbuck did share the new Nora line with the mod makers to test on discord. No idea though if and when it is going to be released as official beta or a new AIO. Might be tomorrow or in a month or so depending on changes they want to make after tests.

Does the game have many unique npcs?
About 20 unique NPCs with designed storylines of certain lengths/quality. They like the randomly generated NPCs have randomly generated details but some are fixed (stats and some opinions along with looks and starting locations).

There are some storylines designed for random NPCs but they are few and short. This is a management game first and foremost. Storylines are being added in to give characters depth and introduce new mechanics but the common management endgame issue of mastery of mechanics to the point of no challenge is still present. Unfortunately at this time the remaining content is just the sexual interactions many complain about.

Svetlana is one of the patreon npcs (iirc) which means fixed starting appearance, not sure if any of her stats/opinions are fixed as well....
no storyline for her though, think a page or two back someone listed the patreon npcs (note these are fixed first and last name)

think the unique npcs is refering to like Olivia the hairdresser....who by design likes dark chocolate and has her story (love/lust/obedience) as defined events
theres an ingame tool that will show these npcs (at least the ones you've met)
a better example would be Sarah (the ex-neighbor) who is looking for HR manager role....
both of these the last name is randomized

No, she is one of the Patreon NPCs. They are not genuine unique NPCs, they are just predefined presets for random emloyees.

They have no unique storyline. They have a name, predefined look, some predefined wardrobe, some predefined stats (some has more, some has less). Usually they have some backstories - nothing fancy, one paragraph or two -, but I think these backstories are only there in the code (as comments), not readable in the game itself.

If you search for recruits, there is quite the high chance there will be one of the Patreon characters in the batch. They are mostly looks nicer that the recruits the RNG makes, and they have decent stats, so why not? (My first random employee is always Kendra, I really like that the punk chick.)

Ohhhh. Is there a list for these patreon npcs? I can't seem to find it through searching patreon npc in the search tab.

From the top of my head: Anna Kostenko, Dinah Midari, Kelly Uhls, Kendra Rivera, Lynn Borch, Nuoyi Pan, Olga Schaad, Paige Sallow, Sativa Mendez, Svenja Beitel, Svetlana Ivanovna, Sylvia Weissfeldt. Maybe one or two more, maybe just them.

Those 12 are it, none more. Years ago in one of the game files there was a short description for the first some (i remember Sylvia Weissfeldt, Paige Sallow, Kendra Rivera, Dinah Midari and Svetlanna Ivanova, but i'm quite sure it was more of them) with a bit of history, but to no effect in the game, maybe it was the Patreons advertisement for the character at that time years ago.

If you removed the sex it would be a management game.
If you removed the management game there wouldn't be any way to see the sex. The sex comes through managing the stats of the people around you through the resources unlocked and produced in the management game.

Your opinion, in this case, has been falsified by the facts.

I mean... to be fair, you could play the game without using any serums to woo the girls. There have been multiple people that've played through the game without using serums to get in the pants and fill the city with their babies
Recent updates have pushed the game more into the serum path but earlier versions you could pretty much play it as a dating sim and your company was just there to make you money

So I think you guys both have your points :)

edit: iirc, recent patches made sluttiness have some sort of deterioration mechanic but in the past there was more of a 'dating sim' approach you could take with a girl
If they're single:
small talk to build love and unlock compliment/flirt
compliment a few times for quick love gain
flirt to increase sluttiness
go on lunch date to increase love once love was capped
ask the girl out to the movies / dinner (movies has a lower love requirement)
buy popcorn
pick a movie they like (each personality type has a favorite movie genre)
go back to their place (at this point, depend on their personality/sluttiness, you 'may' get lucky or just get a nice love boost)
go on dinner date
go to an expensive place
congratulations!

from there you could just sex her up a whole bunch until she's 100 love/100 sluttiness and then bring her around to spread the sluttiness (grope her in public etc)

i guess if we're talking about managing stats that makes most dating sims management games as well so it's kind of a poh tay toe/poh tat toh thing

Hey guys, so I've had an issue running this since like way back in early September but only to thought to try and fix it now. Basically if I try to boot up the game it does the usual 'Loading game images this may take a minute', then when it gets into Renpy window itself its just a white screen and nothing else loads. It's the only Renpy game that is currently doing it, and its persisting over different Lab Rat installs. I deleted the original one, then redowned it from here as well as grabbed it off the Github. In each case it's still doing the same result. I've even deleted the labrats folder from the Users section of my AppData to still no change, so here's the log that's was generated for my last attempt, minus my PCs pathways which I've removed, any help in identifying why exactly its refusing to load would be brilliant. Thanks.

Though as you said selling serum is how you make money and building up your company makes things easier. Your employees allow you to earn profits while spending less time doing work. You can even fire employees only to rehire them later for less wages. Oh and you can decide on company uniform policy that is limited by corruption and there are policies you can use to increase the corruption of your employees while you are off wooing girls outside your company.

Awesome, didn't actually know you could hold down shift to bring up a menu. Funking around with the settings in that has sorted it. Not sure exactly what one but not really caring as its fixed it. So thanks ^^
