I was gonna make a joke about arrows to the shoulder. but since I see a piracy thing abrewin', let me just point this out:

That article assumed every download is a lost sale, which has not necessarily been true in more rigorous measures of the impact of piracy for other markets. Also, the company pushing the talking point mostly has a lot of very niche stuff (and a fair bit of it involving content I definitely would not want tied to a credit card with my name on it). Most are also not published on steam, the few that are are priced nearly at the same level as known top level works like Clannad.

Which is not to say it's wrong, piracy is bad yadayada. But I'd be skeptical of their claims without additional evidence & data and addressing other factors that could be at play.

Yeah it's a really dumb idea honestly. I download most porn games for a quick fap or two then forget about them, if I somehow couldn't do that I would not be forking out $10 for a fap. I'll pay for something that catches my eye and will keep me entertained for a good amount of time. If piracy was magically ended I'd probably buy like 3 adult games a year, maybe.

There are no lost sales there, most of the time I finish a game thinking "Glad I didn't spend $10+ on that" considering it's usually a case of holding Ctrl until something interesting comes up.

More yuri is always nice. Even though non lewd makes me sad. I feel like you almost never get non sexual yaoi.

In fact I don't think its ever been held to be true in any noticeably quantifiable amount. if I can't pirate something..I just won't bother? Hell GOG has pretty much been a demonstratable example that not having DRM can reasonably boost sales.
