Artist did crash out for getting called out for tracing art, and deleted everything, twitter, discord server and more. and then started over
did he trace art ?
huh when did this happen no wonder i didnt see their twitter account post
Sorry for quoting/replying to you all, and I am by no means an ai/tracing supporter. I've known the artist for a couple of months, his life isn't as easy going as some would assume that's why he has been posting less, he was also finishing another side project. As a means to improving he started taking r34 ai pics as reference for pose and shading style but no tracing at all especially with art for Las Gorditas. If we assumed the ai just uses a conglomeration of other artists' works (which is unfair, immoral and wrong) why lash out at someone who uses it as a form of inspiration instead of outright using the program? I mean, he makes it himself and saying goes "ladron que roba a ladron tiene mil años de perdon" (translation: thief who steals from a thief has a pardon for a thousand years). He only did that with fanarts, and with more difficult poses he would roughly draw the general position of some things with onion-skin then do lineart, major changes and render on his own.

He did indeed crash out and those who care for him (myself included) asked him to just own up to it, be upfront, right his wrongs, and hell I've seen him draw live no references used and he is fast as fuckk. Like, the group of people who went after him were suspicious of "three artworks in a single day" so as a personal "fuck you" gesture and being a less experienced artist I finished 4 artworks in a day. He has solid practice in skipping the sketch phase and fixing along as he goes, which I saw many artists do way before AI was a thing. In any case, feel free to support his work or not, whichever is fine, he's back to his core style and is now doing art as a side thing instead of main.

Didnt say he did it, just said he got called out for it on twitter, you know those people on twitter that just gang up on someone without even checking, same kinda people that say "this is AI" and drive artists off the platform

Oh believe me it's been happening WAY too often nowadays, it's terrible and fucked up, like it's a compliment to get one's art compared to AI (it sorta means it's so clean and neat that it looks "too perfect") but when it turns into a reason to destroy someone's work reputation and self esteem it's just the shittiest thing. He stopped getting commissions due to the call-out and even though he proved and admitted to everything he was doing they still blamed him for lots more. He could no longer pay rent and groceries so he got an irl job in a shop, people pushed him out of his artist job for fucking nothing really. Why not go after AI "artist" patreons? They make thousands a month with amalgamations of other hardworking artists' work, so why let them keep profiting off of it?

Yea, its really stupid, i was a Huge fan of his first game, and most of my favorite artists have suffered the same way due to the same dumb people doing witch hunts like that
